WE'VE MOVED
Capitol Hill Housing has moved its offices to 12th Avenue Arts:

1620 12th Avenue
Suite 205
Seattle, WA 98122

Dear friends,

2014 was a good year for Capitol Hill Housing. I thought it would be fun to share a top ten list.

1. 12th Avenue Arts. The opening of this project is likely to be on the top of the list for our major accomplishments of the decade as well as the year.

2. Arts District. Our organizational charter says that CHH's purpose includes providing cultural opportunities and facilities. So we've partnered with the City to launch the Capitol Hill Arts District.

3. EcoDistrict. We launched a new website and installed the first community solar array on an affordable apartment building - our Holiday apartments.

4. Squire Park Plaza. In a major partnership with Jonathan Rose Companies, we purchased this mixed-use building in the Central District - deepening affordability in the neighborhood.

5. Haines. We closed on financing and started major rehabilitation of this building - preserving affordable homes in the heart of Capitol Hill.

6. Tiltsonian. We sold a small building this year as part of balancing the fiscal health of our portfolio with our mission to build vibrant and engaged communities.

7. Third party management. We created a new entity to perform management services for other multifamily property owners.

8. New logo. After a decade we updated our logo and brand in recognition of our move into 12th Avenue Arts and our continued evolution as a community based organization.

9. $1 Million in reserves. Maintaining a strong balance sheet is one of the most important things we can do in this industry. Our ability to buy Squire Park Plaza, build 12th Avenue Arts, and partner with a prominent national developer is rooted in our financial strength.

10. Resident Services. Expansion of access to supportive services for residents helps them stay in housing long term and achieve greater stability for their families.

It was hard to keep this list to 10, but these are the highlights. This list demonstrates our commitment to our residents, our business and our community, which will not waver in 2015. Happy New Year everyone!
