GREETINGS FROM
CAREN FORD AND NANCY FISHER
INTERIM CO-EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS
|
The rapport between the staff and their clients is part of the magic of JVS and can be seen daily. The clients feel safe within the walls of our building and we are their second home. Visitors who come through our doors always remark on how professional, dedicated and caring the JVS staff is.
This e-newsletter is dedicated to our staff. We are proud to highlight some of their recent accomplishments. Peggy Himsl, Director of Rehabilitation Services was recently honored at the International Association of Jewish Vocational Services (IAJVS) conference in Montreal as the recipient of the Claudia Fogel Award. Ellen Blake and Lisa Simons just completed their Master's Degrees in Rehabilitation Counseling at Rutgers. Krystal Leonard who interned in the Rehabilitation Department also received her Master's Degree. Niva Santiague, supervisor of the JVS Sunrise Cafe, is receiving her high school diploma on June 18th from Irvingston High School. Our longtime office manager, Gloria Jones is retiring and we thank her for her 43 years of service. Bernard Dreskin, a past president of JVS just celebrated his 100th birthday and we send him wishes for continued health and happiness.
We also wanted to share some of the highlights of the May 12th Taste & Toast! which was held at The Crystal Plaza in Livingston. The event was very successful and it featured the premiere of our new JVS video, highlighting our agency programs and clients.
As we continue to celebrate JVS at 75, we thank you for your support and ask you to consider making a donation to help the agency's future growth and prosperity.
