Making Ends Meet
During August and September, we'll be partnering with three other local non-profits and dozens of Cape Cod restaurants to "Make Ends Meet". Along with the Family Pantry, Lower Cape Outreach Council and WE CAN, we're embarking on a two month campaign to raise awareness about the financial and other challenges so many Cape Codders face living year round in a seasonal economy and to raise money for the work of our organizations. Between the four organizations, 20,000 Cape Codders receive a range of services and support. Guests at participating restaurants will receive a "Making Ends Meet" request envelope in the check presentation folder. Contributions to the campaign will be collected from guests along with the check payment and gratuity. "As local businesses, our restaurant partners know better than most the challenges of our seasonal economy, says CDP Executive Director Jay Coburn. That's why they've joined with us to ensure that the safety net is maintained for those who need help "making ends meet." For a list of participating restaurant, Click Here.

A Note from Jay

Dear Friends:
This past Monday marked the beginning of the 21st Annual Bob Murray Housing with Love Walk and CDP Board Members and Staff walked for the first three days, from Provincetown to Harwich. The event raises both awareness and much needed funds to support the affordable housing efforts provided by eleven non-profit organizations on the Cape, including the CDP. I hope you will be inspired by our efforts and support the walk with a contribution to the CDP - you can click here to make an online donation. And special thanks to our sponsors Valle Group, Seamen's Bank Long Point Charitable Foundation, Hot Chocolate Sparrow, Kerry Insurance Agency, A3 Architects, Snow's, J.M. O'Reilly & Associates, Inc, 3 Harbors Realty and Sam's Deli.
August & September will provide another great way to support the work of the CDP as we launch the Making Ends Meet Campaign. Diners at 17 participating restaurants on the Lower Cape will be asked to leave a contribution to help support the programs of the CDP and three other partner organizations serving our low-to-moderate income neighbors. Full details and a list of participating restaurants are noted above.
Thanks for taking the time read our monthly update and for your continued interest in and support of the CDP.
Jay
