Micro Loans Support Local Small Businesses
Did you know we have loans available for qualified small business owners? Our short term operating loans and longer term capital loans provide support to local start-up and growing businesses. The maximum loan size is $40,000 and applicants are required to submit an application, including a business plan and financial projections.Individual business support is available to potential borrowers. According to Director of Business and Credit Programs, Sheila Hoogeboom, "The CDP helps business owners prepare a loan package that they can take to a traditional lender or submit to our program. | |

A Note from Jay

For over two decades, members of the Community Development Partnership have gathered each year for our Annual Meeting. The Meeting is part celebration of our accomplishments over the past year and part business as we elect new members of the Board. But the most important part of our Annual Meeting is that it ties us to our community and the people we serve.
This year, we have many reasons to be excited about our annual gathering:
- US Senator Elizabeth Warren will be our speaker. I first met Senator Warren in November 2011 and was instantly inspired by her tireless and eloquent advocacy for working families. Now, as our newly elected Senator and a member of the US Senate Committee on Banking, Housing & Urban Affairs, Senator Warren is at the center of setting policy on affordable housing and economic development. This is a tremendous opportunity for us to enable the Senator to more deeply understand the challenges faced by many of our neighbors on the Lower Cape.
- We are so proud to present the 9th Annual Gwen Pelletier Award to long-time housing activist, Bob Murray. From organizing the annual Housing with Love Walk to serving as a Board Member for several of our affordable housing partner organizations, Bob embodies the spirit and dedication of past honorees.
- In an effort to broaden community support for the CDP, a By-law Amendment will be proposed to create an Advisory Council. Members of the Advisory Council will be community and business leaders who support the mission of the CDP and have expressed a desire to be involved in the organization's success.
This will be my first Annual Meeting as CDP's Executive Director and I look forward to seeing you and thanking you in person for your continued support of our important work!
