Dear Friend,
Over the past year through this e-newsletter we've brought you success stories of individuals and businesses we've had the opportunity to work with. Remember Andy and Alane Keese? Through their participation in the Cape Cod Fisheries Trust, they've been able to succeed in today's competitive business market and comply with the many regulations that govern our fisheries.
We've highlighted the many important partnerships that are crucial to achieve sustainable impact within our community. The Cape and Islands Green Program has helped 32 local businesses become green verified and an additional 71 have adopted green practices, all helping to preserve a healthy environment.
We've shared how our programs and services are creating opportunities for people to live, work and thrive on the Lower Cape. Yo u may recall Lance Mirkin, disabled after a stroke, who entered and won the lottery for a one-bedroom handicap accessible home at our recently constructed, award winning Thankful Chases Pathways in Harwich. He is thrilled to be part of the CDP family.
For 20 years we've been able to support community members like the Keese's and Lance Mirkin because of generous contributions from people like you who value our community. Whether it is through business development, job creation, locally- generated renewable energy or a safe and affordable place to live, our programs have long-term impact on people's lives and on the richness of our community.
Will you help us continue supporting Andy, Alane and Lance and and the many other individuals and families benefitting from our programs from Chatham to Provincetown, by making a year-end contribution to the CDP? Click Here to make an on-line contribution at our secure web-site. Your contribution will help sustain the Lower Cape's future as a unique and vibrant place to live.
This is how we've made a difference together:
Supporting the availability of Affordable Housing. We oversaw the rehab of a two-family, town-owned affordable rental property in Eastham - one unit was converted to handicap-accessible; and we oversaw the site work for five affordable homeownership uni ts in Wellfleet. Our Thankful Chases Pathway, a 12-home, energy-efficient neighborhood in Harwich was recognized as the winner of the 2012 Clean Energy Green Action Award for New Construction by the Cape & Islands Renewable Energy Collaborative and Best Affordable Rental Development from the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Cape Cod.
Nurturing small business. We provided five micro loans totaling $88,000 through our Micro Loan Program. The loans supported start-up and growing businesses in the art, hospitality, fishing and professional services sectors and will help preserve 11 existing jobs and create five new jobs.
Collaborating with the Cape Cod Fisheries Trust. We have helped fishing families like the Keeses, as we have leased 200,000 lbs. of scallop quota; provided 250 hours of training and education around best business practices; helped acquire $250,000 in loan capital; preserved 58 jobs; and kept $10,000,000 in revenue circulating in the Lower Cape economy.
Your generosity makes all of this possible. Please join with us again and help us continue to provide opportunities for people to live, work and thrive in this beautiful place we call home. THIS PLACE MATTERS. Thank you for helping us to make a difference.
Sincerely,
Ernie Rogers
Board President
on behalf of the CDP Board of Directors
P.S. We couldn't be more excited and proud to announce the launch of our Real Return Initiative which will expand the use of renewable energy via solar power while at the same time, support our ongoing objective to provide safe, stable year-round affordable housing for local residents. Stay tuned for updates in the coming months!

Fourteen years ago, when John Guerra and I had the dream to open CHESTER Restaurant in Provincetown, we had no experience in creating a business plan. Fortunately there was an organization on the Lower Cape ready to help: The Community Development Partnership.
I'm honored now to lead this 20-year old non-profit as Executive Director. The CDP promotes a vibrant Lower Cape region based on the principals of environmental and economic sustainability, greater opportunities for low and moderate income residents, and the preservation of the our unique ecological, historic, and cultural character.
I know you care as deeply as I do about the vibrancy of the Lower Cape and the importance of a sustainable economy for all who call this special place home. I hope you will help me meet an ambitious fundraising goal during my first weeks at CDP by making a generous end-of-year contribution.
Thanks for your support and best wishes for a happy and healthy New Year,

Jay Coburn
Executive Director
