Welcome to our New Executive Director
Jay Coburn
After a thorough search, we are pleased to announce the selection of our new Executive Director, Jay Coburn.  "We are thrilled with this appointment," reported Ernie Rogers, CDP Board President. "Jay brings strong leadership and fundraising skills to the organization, as well as a deep commitment to the community. We are confident that his breadth of experience will continue to move the organization in a positive and strategic direction."
Jay's resumé includes over 25 years of communications, organization, management, fundraising and leadership experience. Most recently he worked with State Senator Dan Wolf as his Political Director. "I am thrilled to
have the opportunity to lead the CDP as this vital organization enters its 3rd decade of work on the Lower Cape," remarked Coburn. "As a resident, small business person, employer and an elected official, I have a broad understanding of the challenges many of our fellow citizens face in creating a good life for themselves and their families. I'm honored to have the opportunity to work with such a great staff and board to nurture a vibrant Lower Cape region."

The Real Return Initiative is Launched

As you may be aware and we are thrilled to share, our innovative Real Return Initiative was launched in recent weeks. The Real Return was developed to expand the use of renewable energy through solar power, support energy efficiency upgrades and address critical capital needs, all while supporting our ongoing objective to provide and sustain quality affordable housing on the Lower Cape. On November 1st, twenty years of relationship building gathered together what ended up being a CDP family reunion. Community members, local businesses, legislators, past and present Board & staff, founders, funders, and many more, poured into Wellfleet Preservation Hall to reminisce and reconnect over food and drink.

CDP presents at Innovation in Fisheries Conference

The CDP Staff, Sheila Hoogeboom and Pam Andersen, recently presented at the Innovation in Fisheries Conference at the Gulf of Maine Research Institute in Portland ME. The CDP is involved in developing a new on-line tool, The Fish Hub, to help fishermen manage their fishing business, their quota and the reporting requirements within fisheries. Learn more...

Between Black Friday and Cyber Monday sits Small Business Saturday, a day dedicated to supporting small businesses and their communities. The CDP is proud to support Small Business Saturday and encourages everyone to shop at their favorite small businesses on Saturday, November 24th. As we enter the Holiday season this week I hope that this Thanksgiving finds you with plenty of reasons to give thanks. As you read above, we have much to be thankful for at the CDP including the dynamic partners we collaborate with, the generous funders and donors who support us, the amazing communities in which we work and the wonderful individuals we have the opportunity to serve each day.
