Rockmore is in The Historic New Orleans Collection 2016 Winter Quarterly this month. This 1964 Shipyard & Construction Rockmore acquisition was made possible by The Laussat Society. Rockmore actually worked down by the World Trade Tower and Shipyards on the waterfront (near Hilton now) in the summer of 1964. It was brutally hot but Rockmore was not deterred and actually was an interesting diversion for the workers. FYI - It is worth it for Rockmore fans to have a FREE subscription to The HNOC Quarterly just by signing up. Rockmore is in there so often and the HNOC supports him.
Greetings!

Happy Martin Luther King weekend! We all share a dream with Shirley Marvin that one day soon Rockmore will rise up to the Art Worlds attention and be recognized as The American Genius Artist that he is. Things are moving really fast as we start this New Year with laser focus on our two Rockmore Shows in NYC & DC. We will be staying in the New York City area over the next 2 months to secure a date & venue in NYC. We have no dates scheduled yet but will let you know when we do. We are just over $30,000 in fundraising for pre-paying both show expenses of $50,000.

The response has been great from collectors who want to put works in the show to sell at 10X the current market value at 50:50 with our Non Profit GEFQ (as you can imagine). We spent a lot of last month negotiating consignment agreements for MAJOR MAJOR Rockmores in the 50K-150K range that fit into the theme of the show. We are proud to announce, as we remember Dr. King, that our theme for the shows will be "Artists depicting the Black Cultural Experience, Immigration, & New York City."

So far we have learned that our 3 day weekend with multiple ticketed events (that we always do at our shows anyway) is what they are used to in New York. Also, that our show theme is very current and should be popular if we promote it well. We will network with our NYC Rockmore collectors and friends over the next two months. We hope to have some PRE Planning events to get as many of you as we can involved. Once we complete our fundraising and commit to a NYC date & venue, we will turn our attention to a DC Date & Venue. Once that is set, we will return to lining up the consignments and artworks for the show. Then we pick up the artworks across the country while documenting the artworks for the Show catalog and insurance. Then a massive PR blitz and on with the show, this is it!

We do have some exciting opportunities for all of you to be involved right now. Our sponsorship opportunities are listed below and include DOUBLE TICKETS as listed (until we announce that first show date - then tickets are $100 each), a work of art, our Show catalog and books. The VIP Tickets will include at least 3 scheduled party events with food, drinks & music, gifts, a lecture event, a private walk through and running around with the group for a whole weekend as we have done at all our other shows. This time it will be NYC & DC so who knows what great opportunities will happen. Once Herschel & Sheldon had an all night After party for Rockmore VIPs at the Presidential Suite of the Casino in Lake Charles. Shirley was the star and we made great memories with new friends all over Rockmore. We hope you will eventually attend one of these shows so why not jump in now and get some art and double tickets to help move Rockmore on to the next level.

We know many of you have supported us through all of our other past events and have contributed way beyond the Call of Duty. Thank you and we hope you understand that this is a Brand New Event and the fundraising for it only includes direct GEFQ or eBay contributions since last November. We have tried to include special works in this Mondays eBay, especially the last of Shirley's silk-screens & etchings, that give you a chance to get an important Rockmore & sponsorship all at the same time. Win one of these below and it will make you a Silver Sponsor!

We love all you guys and you know that "we can build this "Rockmore Dream" together, Standing strong forever, Nothing's gonna stop us now!" - Starship
