VERY Exciting news about a donation of the Rockmore in the Center "The Feast" a 1954 18x12 Gouache to the University of Maryland University College Arts Museum represented by Director Eric Key on the left. The donation was made by long time Rockmore Collectors and GEFQ supporters, John & Doris Babcock, on the right with Shirley Marvin at their home in Washington D.C. It is important to note that the unsigned authenticated Rockmore work was appraised by an outside appraiser at $20,000. Every time an official appraisal like this occurs, it helps cement the Rockmore Current Values one step higher. Thank you John & Doris for your ongoing Rockmore philanthropy & support as we bring him the Washington D.C. Artworld recognition he has earned!
Greetings!

Well we made it to here! That has been a mantra for Tee & I on this 10 year adventure to bring Rockmore to Artworld recognition. After yesterdays tragic events, it makes us all realize how quickly our lives can change in an instant. It also makes us realize how incredible it is when folks we know well make it to milestones like Gypsy Lou Webb's 99th year and Shirley Marvin's 93rd. Pictured below at our recent visit to the Greenbriar Convalescent Center in Slidell, Lou is doing well and could still recognize the Rockmore characters from her life by name from the Rockmore book. She is not as mobile as she used to be but every bit as alive, loving & feisty as is Shirley. We think what they miss most in their 90s is the regular interaction with the people who love and care about them. Lou wanted nothing more than to just hold us tight and it was so hard leaving her with those tears in her eyes. Shirley becomes a whole new person with every adventure that takes her out of the retirement center. You can see that we have extra motivation for making these Washington DC & NYC Rockmore Exhibitions happen in a timely manner.

The Rockmore of Gypsy Lou Webb at left recently sold for $3444 at Auction. She gets her mail at Louise Webb c/o Greenbriar Nursing Convalescent Center, 505 Robert Blvd, Slidell, LA 70458. Shirley Marvin gets hers at Shirley Marvin, c/o St. James Wellness Center #327, 333 Lee Drive, Baton Rouge, LA, 70808.

Pictured above is Shirley with Andy Antippas of Barrister's Gallery. Shirley & Andy are two of Rockmore's oldest friends and ongoing supporters. His legacy is preserved in large part to their dedication and collections. Shirley is pictured with new Rockmore Collector, Yvonne Murray, in the center from Natchez, MS. Yvonne is one of the many collectors that just keeps us going with her constant encouragement on everything that we do. Happy 51st Anniversary to Ralph & Nita Howard pictured at the right from LaGrange, GA. Ralph & Nita have been our mentors and supporters since we started this project. The only reason that Rockmore made it back at all is because of their vision and commitment to us and to him. Thank you all for believing in us & Noel Rockmore.

Our LaGrange connection continues with Bobby Cammon & Pepper Ellis-Hageback of Three Points Frame Shop pictured at left. A majority of the 100s of works that we have framed, matted and restored have gone through their capable hands. In the center are Oliver & Annie Greene, two of the shining jewels of LaGrange, GA. Ms. Annie is one of the finest artist we have met on the Rockmore trail and we hope our futures will continue to be tied together. On the right is Chris Hageback of the 809 Gallery of Art next to the Three Points Frame Shop. Chris is an outstanding artist in his own right and the only restorer that we completely trust with a Noel Rockmore work.

Dapper Bruce Lafitte who has been the focus of our GEFQ NON Profit effort to bring artists attention has a brand new daughter, Bria. We are putting the finishing touches on a Biography created by David Wall that will also be a Wikipedia page for Dapper Bruce Lafitte. Last but not least, we made a new friend with Andrew Hall in the Hawaiian shirt. Andrew, a musician & Rockmore collector, came from England in the early 70s and settled into the New Orleans jazz scene playing with many of the Pres Hall greats. That is his beautiful Preservation Hall Portrait of Cie Frazier on the right. Andrew still performs today as he splits his time between England & New Orleans.

As the holidays approach we leave you with this thought, "We think what they miss most in their 90s is the regular interaction with the people who love and care about them." Perhaps this goes for everyone regardless of age and maybe we can make some time this season for those who need it.

Think of your fellow man, Lend them a helping hand, Put a little love in your heart
You see it's getting late, Oh, please don't hesitate, Put a little love in your heart
And the world will be a better place, And the world will be a better place
For you and me, You just wait and see!- Put A Little Love In Your Heart by Jackie DeShannon

PS.
We do hope to get an eBay up later this month for all of you who keep asking. In the meantime, we wanted to get this email out because as you can see, there is no shortage of Rockmores being sold by others. This is a VERY Good thing for a guy who had disappeared from the Artworld when we found him 10 years ago. We have not yet reached Shirley's vision but we are optimistic, this could be the year!
