Greetings from the Frozen North and apologies for the long delay in communicating.
On January 9th 2015 Shirley Marvin had a fall at her retirement center in Baton Rouge and fractured her back and her hip. Rich & Tee drove down and embedded themselves in the St. James Wellness Care Center with Shirley. Shirley became a star 92 year old patient and the prognosis is for a full recovery. Rich & Tee bonded with over 100 seniors in the Wellness Center as we learned about aging and what it takes to recover from an injury. Below you see Shirley going from wheelchair to walker, our daughter Macy - the regular visitor when we are gone and Shirley's first time standing.
After a month Shirley was able to walk on a walker and Rich & Tee returned north for a family wedding and also a NYC Art Show. On the way out we stopped by to visit Gypsy Lou Webb in her new retirement center in Slidell. Gypsy Lou's situation has certainly taken a dramatic turn for the better. The facility is 1st rate and Lou is adjusting to living with lots of care and other residents. She interacts well with the staff now (after a few caning incidents of perceived intruders) and her new Apartment is the best living condition she has had in 30 years. Her dog, "Baby Girl" was adopted by one of the nurses who brings her by to visit Lou. The room smells clean and fresh and Lou looks great with a little more weight. The only problem is that she would like some more visitors as we have been the only ones besides family. If you are ever near the I-10/12 split in Slidell, you are 5 minutes away. You can call ahead and alert the staff and they will have her ready for a visitor (985) 641-2827. She loves cards as well, Louise Webb," Azalea Estates, 354 Robert Blvd. Room 212, Slidell, LA, 70458.
When we arrived in NYC we attended the Show featuring GEFQ's 1st Living Hero Among Us - Bruce Davenport Jr. The show -"The Dapper Bruce Lafitte Does his Hero Mike Tyson" got a lot of NYC press and acclaim. It was very exciting and we became totally committed to getting Noel Rockmore his 1st NYC Show in 40 years so he too can have some NYC press & acclaim. We are "all in" on this mission and we are working to make it happen! Below are pictures of our family that took time out of the wedding events to come to the show and be a part of the film Tee is working on.
This Friday we begin our journey back to the Wellness Center in Baton Rouge for a month to help (wheelchair free) Shirley transition to where she will live next within the retirement community. We will take her on a few short trips so we can help her adjust to traveling and transition her from a walker to walking again with help. One day you are giving a speech and getting the Key to the City in Lake Charles and a few months later you are learning to walk all over again. You can be sure that Shirley has applied the same tenacity towards walking as she has done for keeping getting Rockmore recognized. We all will return soon to promoting Rockmore & The GEFQ with our relentless tenacity but for now it's all about Shirley Marvin's recovery, we hope you will understand. She loves to get cards as well to Shirley Marvin, 333 Lee Drive Apt. 235, Baton Rouge, LA, 70808.
We have NOT had time to get a Rockmore eBay together but will try hard for later this month. We thank all of you for your patience, understanding and ongoing support!

P.S. On a personal note, our youngest child, Tucker Marvin, will be graduating from Hampshire College in May THIS YEAR. Many of you know Tucker from their helping with many of our art events and shows from last year. At Hampshire College in Amherst, there are no grades, yet every Senior leaves with a hard copy product that launches them into the workforce or Graduate School with something in hand. Tucker has overcome many obstacles on their way to their $220,000 FREE Ride because according to Student Services, "Tucker makes sure that every student in their class is always included and models this exceptional behavior for their teachers at Hampshire College." "Imagine" how proud and relieved we are when our 5th college educated child gets this award just as we went on this Rockmore Adventure. This is Tucker's book project (it's really AMAZING) that they would like to have bound to show the world (and graduate schools & future employers). We are all in - "we hope one day you'll join us."
