We are very excited to announce that The Lake Charles Museum Show - "The Genius of Rockmore" is moving full speed ahead. We culled the Museum Show entries from 2000+ submissions from 50+ collectors to 250 from 30 Collectors. So far 135 have been chosen and approved by the Museum. At least 15 more will be selected, possibly more than that, after the Museum is able to assess how much wall space is still available. The competition was unreal. It is easily going to be The Most AWESOME Rockmore Show Ever Opening Sept. 5 & 6 in Lake Charles, LA. We were able to visit with Gypsy Lou Webb before we departed Louisiana and she actually was much more mobile at 98 then she has been in months. Our youngest, Tucker, got a nice picture with her on our visit. Her memory has slipped dramatically since our visit the month before but she is her feisty self and loves getting cards even if as she says, "I have no idea who the hell all these people are that know me but I love them, you too stranger." Her address is Gypsy Lou Webb, 1050 Cousin St. Apt. A, Slidell, LA, 70458. Below is also a favorite photo by Johnny Donnels of Gypsy Lou & Rockmore - "Tenants Anyone?" We are sad to report that Johnny's widow, Joan Donnels, passed away last week at 80. She was as important to the fabric of the French Quarter as she was to Johnny and she will be missed.

We have been on the road with Shirley Marvin for 18 days and have celebrated her 92nd birthday with her granddaughter & great grandsons in Hilton Head, SC. We drove through Hurricane Arthur in NC and greeted it again on our arrival to Cape Cod (it was a mid level rain storm compared to Louisiana weather). We attended a Rock Shabbat in Cape Cod at our FJC as well as a Osterville Rotary Bluefish Tourney(Picts by Tee). We will travel to Johnson & Johnson World Headquarters next week in New Jersey to view Gladys Rockmore Davis works. We have hopes to make other stops in NYC, DC, Boston & New England before the August return to Louisiana. Our next task is to get some Major Press and also FUND a Catalog for The Show that includes all 150 works in the Show. This is your chance to HELP and be involved and have a Major Rockmore work in the Lake Charles Museum Show & Catalog. Listed below are all of Shirley Marvin's works that have been selected so far for the Show. If you purchase one up front (at a 20% discount) before next week, it will bear your name - From the Collection of (Your name = Major HERO) and be a Featured part of the Catalog that you helped to fund. It's a Win-Win-Win! We realize these are very hard and trying economic times for people and investing in art is not even possible or thinkable for most. Yet, in our OPTIMISTIC Don Quixotic Quest, WE BELIEVE that all things are possible if you maintain a GOOD attitude and persevere. We will keep our heads up, work hard and keep you posted! Thanks for your support,
Shirley, Rich & Tee Marvin The Golden Era of the French Quarter Team
