Rockmore Event Photos from April & Gypsy Lou Webb Update
Dear ,

What an exciting month of April it has been for us on many fronts. We got to meet so many of you in person and we were welcomed visitors everywhere we went. We had a couple of glitches, like Tee's emergency 4 day hospitalization for a foot infection and the loss of another car. But all is well now and we are back to documenting and doing our thing. This includes offering many new Rockmore artworks for sale at the bottom of this email that is filled with images of all our past events and adventures.

Today is Gypsy Lou Webb's 98th Birthday and she sure would like to get a card or note from anyone. On our recent visit we discovered she could no longer here her phone ringer and was so upset that nobody had called her in several weeks. We replaced her phone so all is well now. Her short term memory is not great but long term is good and she is still quite vibrant and likes interaction. She loves cards & letters and her address is
Gypsy Lou Webb, 1050 Cousin St. Apt. A, Slidell, LA, 70458
.

Our First Event was on March 9th in Baton Rouge at Dearman's Soda Fountain.
For Rich & Shirley, it was like a neighborhood reunion thanks to so many friends.

On March 22nd we had our 1st GEFQ GALA Event
at Bevolo Gas Light Museum in the French Quarter! We honored artist Bruce Davenport Jr. and Larry Borenstein as our 1st Inductees into the GEFQ Hall of Fame for all they contribute to New Orleans. Drew Bevolo made a special presentation to Shirley Marvin for all she has done to preserve the culture. Artist Bob Adler did free caricatures for the attendees. The John Kid Simmons Jazz Band was a HUGE hit as was our son Tory, DJ N2ishion with Good Vibe Nation(for all your party needs). Flashy blinky things and masks were given out, there was raffling of books and artwork, good food, great drinks and a splendid time was had by all. We can't wait to do it again next year. We hope you will join us!

The Caricatures were a MAJOR Hit - Special Thanks to Bob Adler!

Thanks to Chris the Bartender, Tuck the photographer, Candace the Bartender & Tory the DJ!
Shirley & Sacha share a laugh before the Presentations.

Tatiana & Sacha, E. Lorenz Borenstein's granddaughter & daughter, accept the Award of a Watercolor of Larry Reading the Paper.

Bruce Davenport Jr. really enjoyed his homemade trophy and being recognized for all he does to give back to the bands & schools of New Orleans. Part of our GEFQ Mission will be to get the word out in the media on Bruce Davenport Jr. & E. Lorenz Borenstein in the coming year!

It was a lot of laughs and a memorable fun event for all that were able to attend! Special Thanks to Jim Roth, Brian & Lily Monk, Jennifer & Andrew Wyly, Drew Bevolo & Eugene & Patricia Dietz who all purchased Rockmore artworks at the GALA. It was so fitting that Gene & Trish got the Portrait of Bryant Allen in the same place that Bryant Galleries ruled the French Quarter Artworld for so many years. Thank you all for your support and everyone who attended our events!

Our next adventure took us to LaGrange, GA and back to NOLA through a BIG storm in a Cargo Van to pick up and deliver two MAJOR artworks to new Rockmore collector Vic Loisel.Vic runs Loisel Vintage Modern Furniture at 2855 Magazine Street in New Orleans. You can see a Rockmore masterpiece there (Metamorphosis) amid the fascinating retro furniture (think 50s & 60s TV shows) and interesting art including a Gallery in the store. Vic has offered to host an art event in the fall for us at his store, we will keep you posted.

Our final adventure of the month took us to Hollywood, Florida to pick up two special Rockmore consignments and interview Paul & Fran Harris. Paul ran the pharmacy where Rockmore was a regular customer near his home on West 67th in New York. Interestingly, Rockmore did not do anything other than over the counter items and was a regular character especially since they let him run a tab. Eventually, Paul agreed to let him settle his tab with art. What a fascinating time we had interviewing this couple and hearing so many wonderful stories.

It has been a wonderful adventure and I must take time to once again thank my mom for making it all possible. I must also thank my lovely, talented, vivacious, brilliant wife Tee. She will be celebrating her birthday this Thursday on May 1st and has been quite the trooper for the last 8 months as we have made the book and all the subsequent events a reality. Happy Birthday Tee - I love you - for all that you do for everyone!

Thank you all for being on this adventure!
