*Note - The Bevolo Gas Light Museum was originally the Bryant Galleries "Crown Jewel of the Empire" on Royal Street. Many artist like Alan Flattman, Rolland Golden, Noel Rockmore and even Peter Falk were part of the talented stable of artists managed by Doris & Bryant Allen. Kid Simmons of the Jazz band is married to Dodie Smith-Simmons who was around near the beginning of Pres Hall and The Jazzfest as well as an original "Freedom Fighter." Bob Adler, a French Quarter artist, will be doing free caricatures at our Gala event. He actually worked at Bryant Galleries and is a Rockmore collector.

Bruce |
Bruce Davenport Jr. is a current International Artist from New Orleans who will be recognized as a GEFQ current "Hero amongst us" for what he gives back to New Orleans and the youth in our community.
E. Lorenz Borenstein (Larry Borenstein) will be inducted as our 1st Golden Era of the French Quarter Hero from the past for all that he gave to so many people in the French Quarter Community.
There will be a brief presentation of Awards to Bruce and to Larry's family during which we will try and give you an idea of their detailed contributions and connections that have impacted New Orleans, The French Quarter and each and every one of us.
The key is to RSVP NOW because we will also be encouraging Tennessee Williams Festival folks to join our party but they will have to pay a $10 cover. This is NOT a fundraiser, it is a chance to celebrate our 1st Full year as a Foundation and honor two heroes with you. There will be art and books for sale that benefit the foundation and we certainly hope you will encourage Tennessee Williams Festival folks to get in on the action. Half of life is just showing up so if you think you might stop by just RSVP below. We won't hold you to it but we sure would love to see you.

P.S. It has been an amazing two weeks in which we have celebrated our 28th Anniversary put on three exhibitions in three different towns, met with old friends and made new ones, rode in a St. Patricks day parade, went to Houston and Lake Charles. Visited the Lake Charles Cultural Center that will have the GEFQ curate a two floor 150 Work Exhibition where many Rockmores will be exhibited for the very first time this September & October (let us know if you have one and are interested in loaning yours or selling yours at this event). We have also worked out all the kinks of our one day or weekend traveling exhibition of over 50 works that we will soon be taking on the road across the US (let us know if you are interested in having us come to your town!).
P.P.S. We will do our usual photo update of all the past March events plus the GALA in our April Newsletter!
