Greetings!
We were actually arriving to Manny Greer's NYC apartment at the moment the bombs went off at the Boston Marathon. All of our immediate family is safe and accounted for, thanks for all the heartfelt concern. We know from 9/11 what it is like to find out about a lost loved one several days after an event so we take nothing for granted. Our prayers go out to all whose lives have been changed forever by yesterdays bombing.
We listened through tears to NPR on the long ride back from NYC to Cape Cod. The Best "Silver Linings" we heard were the fact that the Top Medical care in the world was minutes away, the inspirational bravery of those first responders running to the site to help and the misjudgment of the perpetrators thinking that we would cower, live in fear and feel unsafe due to this act. Quite the opposite, it unifies all of us to be more vigilant, more patriotic, to actively confront cowardly evil and to heal and work together especially in Boston.

Our visit with Manny Greer, Rockmore's Dealer & friend from 1961-1967, went great as we picked up some consignments and got some excellent mentoring. At 88, Manny is in great physical & mental shape and always gives us valuable input into The Noel Rockmore Project & life. "You people are having success doing something that has never been done for the artist, for your mother and for your family. You have made Noel viable and relevant and he is back in the game. It is simply amazing!" Thank you Manny & Jane Greer for being there for us every step of the way.
Planning is moving full speed ahead for the "The Faith & the Fury: Noel Rockmore and his Patron" July 20th through October 6th, 2013 in Baton Rouge, LA at the LASM. For those that like to plan ahead, we are busily organizing a host of Rockmore related events in Baton Rouge & New Orleans after the opening July 20th. This would be Saturday July 20th to Thursday July 25th and would include meeting at several Rockmore iconic hangouts (Alpine, Johnny Whites, Pres Hall), some interesting lectures, viewing of Rockmores and perhaps some onsite visits with Rockmore characters, collectors and Museums. We will keep you posted as things start to get scheduled but July 20th-25th would be a Best time to catch all the Rockmore action!
We were able to get one more eBay offering from the Shirley Marvin Collection posted for this Wednesday April 17th at 9PM ET. We also have 6 Publications featuring Rockmore, Bukowski & Gypsy Lou Webb coming up at Doyle Auction in NYC Tuesday July 23rd at 10AM as one lot #216 - see below. The timing seems terrible now but we must go on as this only fuels our ability & desire to move forward in a positive way. No quit in us, no quit in Boston. Special thanks to all the New Yorkers that treated us with such empathy as we found out about the Boston event in their city. As much as we love to compete against you, we will never forget your compassionate response yesterday.
