Greetings!
Greetings from our new home, New Orleans, The Big Easy!
The official dates for "The Faith & the Fury: Noel Rockmore and his Patron" are July 20th through October 6th, 2013 in Baton Rouge, LA at the LASM. We will try to help organize events to tie in to the opening but they are all in the planning stage right now. We (Shirley, Rich & Tee) had a great meeting last week with Elizabeth Weinstein, LASM Curator and Sam Lasavio, LASM Asst. Museum Director. The most exciting thing will be assembling The Rockmore's and being able to celebrate it with Shirley Marvin (The Faith) as she enters her 91st year. We are also quite excited about the springboard this will give Rockmore (The Fury) for recognition as The Master American Artist that we all know he is.

Shirley & Rich
& Mardi Gras |
We have spent our 1st month arriving and adjusting to all our surroundings and events including The Super Bowl and our first Mardi Gras in 20+ years. We have met with several new and old collectors and entertained family, friends and our kids & grandkids. We attended a new temple, Touro Synagogue, joined a neighborhood watch FSJNA, and walked & explored 5 miles in every direction. Simultaneously, we have set up our apartment, with a guest room for Shirley, to promote our Non Profit GEFQ & network with all the Museums and Art happenings in Baton Rouge & NOLA.

& Mardi Gras |
We visited with Gypsy Lou Webb in Slidell this week and she is alive and well at 96. Her memory, visitors and mail have waned considerably and she is not sure why. We told her that now that we are here we would work on all of that. She and her faithful dog, Jolie, have become quite sedentary and she is not sure why her legs are sore when she stands up. She loved the Mardi Gras beads we brought her but was not sure about the photo since she has not had anyone to die her hair black in months. Tee is on this and we will also try to get her up and about and visiting New Orleans and The Senior Center again as she heads into her 97th year (April 29th). In the meantime, PLEASE drop her a note - Gypsy Lou Webb, 1050 Cousin St. - Apt. A, Slidell, LA, 70450.
We are currently scouting for a GEFQ Gallery/Museum site but in the interim we have turned Shirley's Storage Unit - immortalized in John Ed Bradley's "The Tomb of Noel Rockmore" article - into a mini - Gallery for one on one visits (see Top Picture). For now that is the best outlet to purchase select Rockmore's (& other artists) and keep this dream going. Please let us know if you wish to take a peak before mid March. We have a major Rockmore consignment of 15 works coming from a former Rockmore dealer in NYC and another potential from a local patron just in time for French Quarter Fest & Jazzfest in April.
We are hoping to make the Sweet-Arts Bash on Saturday March 9th at the Contemporary Arts Center and will keep you posted via The Rockmore Facebook fan page on all our activities. We have already made visits to LaGrange, GA & Birmingham, AL and Texas and will return to Cape Cod in late March to get more things as we prepare for the NOLA Festival Season!
That is it for now - we will keep you posted as The Rockmore Adventure continues.

PS. The large 10ft by 8ft Rockmore at right was found this week in the large box in Shirley's Storage. Tee had suggested we open the empty box to make sure we did not miss one. Rich had scoffed at the notion but opened the box to discover this Rockmore 3D Masterwork - featuring Rockmore, Shirley & Star Joey!
