What an exciting Noel Rockmore Rockmore Adventure we have had so far on our recent move to New Orleans to start the Golden Era of the French Quarter Non Profit Foundation (GEFQ). Our first stop was to LaGrange, GA to ship some Rockmore recent art that we had sold.

 We got a call while in GA from Alan Potamkin in Coral Gables, FL who wished to consign 4 prize late 60s Jazz Rockmores to the GEFQ for sale. Alan is the son of Victor & Luba Potamkin, the premier Cadillac dealers and Rockmore managers along with Sergio Franchi in the late 60s. We drove from GA to Coral Gables as Hurricane Sandy was grazing Miami to pick up the works. Alan was so gracious to all of us and was happy to help the cause and pose for these great photos with Shirley & us. We returned to GA the next day and Rich started sending out emails to some high end collectors that had indicated an interest in acquiring Rockmore jazz oils. If you did not get an email it is because the process was cut short.

 Within 15 minutes, Drew Bevolo, of Bevolo Gas & Electric Lights in NOLA, had claimed all four thereby providing the initial funding of the GEFQ. Drew first found us through the Rockmore's on eBay. We delivered the works to Drew who was nice enough to pose with them and offer advice as a past President of the French Quarter Business Association.

Then we set about the logistics of coordinating our move to the French Quarter and finding a place to stay for the first 6 months. We learned much about the many options available and are narrowing in on our final choices. Happy to hear of any great deals for a 2BR & 2B - 3-6 month rental under $1500. Parking a must, not interested in sharing a space.

We also delivered some Rockmore art from the Shirley Marvin Collection to Adam Lambert, proprietor of the Crescent City Auction Gallery, who has been a big Rockmore supporter since Day 1. Shirley will have 3 works up for Auction in this December 8-9 event. Picking an Auction House is a tricky business and trust, integrity and helpful response time is the key as well as a working relationship with the owners. Thanks Adam!

We delivered Rockmore's "The Poet" to Carey & April Metz, Rockmore collectors from Houston Texas that met us through eBay as well. Our next stop was to deliver 2 Rockmore's to Tyson Foods Inc in Springdale, Arkansas that were purchased from the Shirley Marvin Collection to help fund the GEFQ. Special thanks again to Shannon Mitchell, Heather Chilson & Archie Schaffer at Tyson Foods who have gone out of their way to help us after discovering the Tyson-Rockmore connection in their lobby. We made the delivery on Halloween and provided costumes that they donned without hesitation for the photo below. They are Rockmore enthusiasts that have each supported us on eBay with a great sense of humor and dedication to their company. Thanks Tyson Crew!
