10 children per workshop, 2,5 hours.
Under 7 year olds, if a parent is with them. The sessions are 2.5 hours for the workshop: the time the kids are drawing, cutting, inventing the story and characters and photographing the stop-motion movements with our two work stations. There can be a max of 10 kids for each session.
Then we need at least 30 minutes to edit and add sound effects (just us, we don't need kids for that) and then the screening takes an hour. Please sign-up in advance with payment. Sign-Up sheet will be available on Mother's day. Info Renee email
This is intended for school age children and teens, and the children's work will be part of a larger project to express what it means to be Estonian. Children do not have to speak Estonian to participate. A $10 donation per child is requested.

MOZART AND PÄRT

Los Angeleses kõlab taas Arvo Pärdi muusika!
19.-22. mail esitab Los Angelese Filharmoonia orkester Gustavo Dudameli juhatusel Walt Disney Concert Hallis neljal õhtul Mozarti ja Pärdi helitöid.
Koos Los Angelese filharmoonikutega astuvad üles ka Eesti Filharmoonia kammerkoor ja Läti Raadio koor. Kellel on huvi neid kontserte külastada ja minna ka ettekande järel lava taha, palun anda KOHE teada Jaak Treimanile ( email), millal ja kes (nimeliselt) kontserdile tulevad. Lisaks tuleb Pärdi muusika, sealhulgas tema värskeima töö maailma-esiettekanne Los Angeleses samas kontserdimajas esitamisele neljal õhtul 26.-29. mail. Seal aga Eesti ja Läti koor kaastegev ei ole ning puudub ka võimalus esinejatega lava taga kohtuda.
On May 19, 20, 21 and 22 the Los Angeles Philharmonic will perform works by Mozart and Pärt with Gustavo Dudamel conducting. Buy tickets here!
Performing with the Los Angeles Philharmonic will be the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and the Latvian Radio Choir. If you will be attending any of these performances and would like to visit backstage following the performance, please let it know immediately! Please email Jaak Treiman ( email)
There will be additional performances, including a World Premier of Pärts most recent work, that will take place May 26, 27, 28 and 29. However, the Estonian and Latvian choirs will not be performing at these events and backstage privileges for them are not available.

5.-7. august 2016
California soomlased kutsuvad California eestlasi nende jõeäärsesse suvituskohta, mis asub Fresno lähedal. Hauli Huvila on nende privaatlaager Kings Riveri ääres ning nad avavad uksed Los Angelese ja San Francisco Eesti Seltsi liikmetele.

- Telkimine on $10 inimeselt/ööpäev
- Saunad on köetud ööd ja päevad läbi
- Söögid (umbes $5 kuni $12) on valmistatud ühisköögis
- Reedene õhtusöök, 3 einet laupäeval ja pühapäeval on hiline hommikueine
- Vabatahtlikud köögiabilised on teretulnud igal ajal
- On ka saadaval üürimiseks üks suur ($90/ööpäev) ja neli väikest ($60/ööpäev) kabiini milles voodid/kraanikauss/käimla
- Motell Edgewater Inn on jalutuskäigu kaugusel kui telkida ei soovi.
- Ujumine, kalastamine, või jalad vees päevitamine (kokteil käes) on kõik võimalik sõltuvalt jõevee pinna kõrguselt (meil on ju põud)

Finnish - Estonian Friendship Weekend
August 5-7, 2016
The California Finnish community has invited the California Estonians to join them for a weekend at their riverside retreat near Fresno. Hauli Huvila is their private campground along the Kings River and they are welcoming members of the Los Angeles and San Francisco Estonian Societies.

- Camping is $10 per person per night
- Saunas are heated all day and night
- Meals (approx. $5 to $12) will be prepared in the group kitchen
- Friday dinner, 3 meals Saturday, and Sunday brunch
- Volunteers are needed to help in the kitchen
- There are 1 large ($90/night) & 4 small cabins ($60/night) with beds/sink/toilet that may be rented.
- The Edgewater Inn is walking distance if you do not wish to camp
- Floating, swimming, fishing, or lounging with your feet in the water and a cocktail in your hand will be options based on the river water level.
- Volleyball and other games will be organized.
