NJ School Jobs
Asbury Park Press EDITORIAL: Superintendent Salary Cap Needs More than Tweak!
Bottom line: The cap isn't working. It is inequitable. It is forcing talented educators to leave the state. It is discouraging good teachers from becoming administrators. It needs to be fixed. And there is no reason for it to wait until November.

NJASA Executive Director Dr. Bozza Discusses the Cap on Superintendent Pay with the Asbury Park Press:
"It's become a cottage industry. You don't have stable permanent leadership and what you have is a significant amount of turnover. A person who is 40 (years old) and becomes a superintendent can never ever get a salary increase. The rules are nonsensical in terms of what they are trying to achieve."

In the ongoing world of reform, it is vital that all educational leaders reduce the time spent on traditional managerial tasks. The March 17th NJASA workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to reflect on how to become a Transformational Leader by using the 2015 Professional Standards for Educational Leaders. As a guide, participants will leave the workshop with a draft of a customized action plan which will be specific to meet district needs.
