Commissioner's Report
Commissioner Hespe thanked all educators for the time and efforts they provided during the PARCC testing period. 


Student Residency (Division of Administration & Finance)

The State Board approved for publication in the NJ Register amendments to the rules pertaining to student residency proposed at N.J.A.C. 6A:22, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:38-1. The impact of Hurricane Sandy, October 29, 2012, was a contributing factor to the amendments.  


Religious Holidays Calendar (Division of Field Services)
The State Board adopted the resolution pertaining to the annual calendar of religious holidays for the 2015-2016 school year as established at N.J.A.C. 6A:32-8.3(j), pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:36-14-16.

Discussion Resolutions

The State Board discussed enlargement of purpose for the Middlesex Regional Educational Services Commission and the Passaic County Educational Services Commission, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:6-69. Both districts will be invited to provide presentations at the Board's May meeting.  


Proposal Level

Fiscal Accountability, Efficiency and Budgeting Procedures (Division of Field Services)  

The State Board approved for publication in the NJ Register the amendments to the rules proposed at N.J.A.C. 6A:23A-22.4, pertaining to the financial operations of charter schools, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:36A-12. The purpose of this amendment is to bring both the code and statute in sync.
