A Few Words from Teaching Elder Roy Mason..

Friends of Grace,

I hope your week this week has been a great one thus far!  This coming Sunday we will continue our study of Psalm 119, with a message entitled "Going to School With Jesus "  (Psalm 119:97-104).  Elder Rev. Pete Stamey will bring this message in my absence.  I know you will be blessed, so please make every effort to be in attendance.  Should you happen to not be able to be with us on Sunday and miss any message, click here to listen as soon as they are posted.

Please be sure to follow my blog.  As you are reading this, I am on a plane headed for Ghana!  Please remember to be in constant prayer for the team as we travel and as we share the Gospel with all those who will hear for the next few weeks.  I will keep you updated through my blogs.  Click here to be directed to the blog site, and be sure to "Subscribe Via Email" to receive periodic updates, delivered to your inbox!

Missions is It!

God wants His people to partner with Him in the process of redeeming our lost world. Much of the Old Testament reports on His efforts to get the Israelites to be His "priestly nation" and "a light to the nations." But they kept forgetting His purpose in calling them together in the first place, despite the prophets He sent to remind them, as summarized by Stephen in Acts 7. Finally, Jesus came as Savior, but God's idea of having His people work with Him in the redemption process remained unchanged. The Book of Acts records how the church Jesus started became empowered by the Holy Spirit to tell of God's love far and wide. But His original intent is the same-He wants to be in a relationship with all the peoples of the world, and He wants us to help make it happen. This is missions, and it is the uniting theme of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. Here's a shorthand way to express it:

Missions is not part of the church program.

Missions is the church program.

Visions and Dreams...

There are many credible reports that people in middle-eastern countries are
seeing Jesus in dreams and visions and are receiving Him as their savior.
Also satellite television is making huge dents.  In such a closed culture
Jesus still makes house calls!!  One missionary to the Muslim world says,
"No government can block intercession around the world.  So we need to pray
as believers that God would continue to push the gospel out to the ends of
the earth."    From cbn.com

Prayer Room Volunteers Needed

God has said that His house is one of prayer.  It is the foundation for all ministry.  If you believe you are being called by God to pray on Sunday mornings during the teaching time please call Barbara Abbott at 828-478-1073, or e-mail her at prayer@gfellowship.org to sign up.  This is a rotation ministry and you will probably be called to pray once every two or three months.  As intercessor, you will be with the congregation for the praise and worship and then go to the prayer room at the back of the sanctuary during the time that Pastor Roy teaches.  There are many aids in the prayer room to help you pray.
