A Few Words from Teaching Elder Roy Mason..
Friends of Grace,
I hope your week has been a good one so far! This coming Sunday we will go even further into our study of Psalm 119, with a message entitled "I Need Thee Every Hour" (Psalm 119:33-40). I hope each of you will be able to join us. Should you happen to not be able to be with us on Sunday and miss the message, click here to listen as soon as they are posted.
Please be sure to follow my blog. Click here to be directed to the site, and be sure to "Subscribe Via Email" to receive periodic updates, delivered to your inbox!

Please Continue to Pray for...
Bob Roche (Please read below for the latest news that we have on Bob's condition from Deacon, Mike Carey on Wednesday:)
I spoke with Raydelle a short while ago while I was out. Bob has additional appointments at the end of the month but at this point she is very pleased with the care Bob received and the change of medications he has. Sounds like his defibrillator somehow got blood in it, and it just needs to drain naturally. (since not desirable to "go back in" right now). Raydelle had noticed the size of his bruise increasing and was told to go to Durham because they had put the current defibrillator in. They are excited about being home and looking forward to some peace and quiet, really not in need of anything else right now, except of course continued prayers.

These precious girls were truly a gift not only to the lives of Mike and Joanne but to us as a congregation as well. Shania recently wrote Elder Roy Mason a letter which he would like to share with all of you:
Dear Pastor Roy,
Thank you for everything. I don't think I need you to pray for me yet. Tell everyone I said "hi" and I hope everything is doing fine.
Love, Shania
P.S. Miss you all
These precious girls would very much like to hear from all of you! Their address is:
Shania and Atlantis Depew 1080 County Road 5 Corunna, IN 46730
Let's not forget how much they mean to us. Remember them in your prayers and with your greetings!

Missions is It!
God wants His people to partner with Him in the process of redeeming our lost world. Much of the Old Testament reports on His efforts to get the Israelites to be His "priestly nation" and "a light to the nations." But they kept forgetting His purpose in calling them together in the first place, despite the prophets He sent to remind them, as summarized by Stephen in Acts 7. Finally, Jesus came as Savior, but God's idea of having His people work with Him in the redemption process remained unchanged. The Book of Acts records how the church Jesus started became empowered by the Holy Spirit to tell of God's love far and wide. But His original intent is the same-He wants to be in a relationship with all the peoples of the world, and He wants us to help make it happen. This is missions, and it is the uniting theme of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. Here's a shorthand way to express it:
Missions is not part of the church program.
Missions is the church program.

Complacency
Complacency is a bad word..........especially for committed Christians. Many churches, denominational and non-denominational, are just scraping the surface of who Jesus is and so many are content with a smattering of life with Him. That is not Christianity as poured out to us in the Word. Part of our prayer lives MUST be for those who would be lost should He come back soon. Realizing too late that we could have presented a loved one, friend or neighbor for redemption should Jesus return soon is not an option for committed Christians. Ephesians 2: 8 - 9

Prayer Room Volunteers Needed
God has said that His house is one of prayer. It is the foundation for all ministry. If you believe you are being called by God to pray on Sunday mornings during the teaching time please call Barbara Abbott at 828-478-1073, or e-mail her at prayer@gfellowship.org to sign up. This is a rotation ministry and you will probably be called to pray once every two or three months. As intercessor, you will be with the congregation for the praise and worship and then go to the prayer room at the back of the sanctuary during the time that Pastor Roy teaches. There are many aids in the prayer room to help you pray.
