...is never an easy thing to do.  This coming Sunday
immediately following the Worship Celebration, we will be saying "farewell" to Shania and Atlantis, the foster daughters of Mike and Joanne Alge.

These precious girls have meant so much in the lives of not only Mike and Joanne but our church family as well.  Shania and Atlantis are preparing to go and live with their aunt out of state.  While we celebrate and encourage them on this new journey in their lives, our hearts are saddened!

Shania and Atlantis would very much appreciate and cherish a card with a personal note of encouragement and love from each one of us.

************************

Remember, this is a SURPRISE for the girls, so mums the word!  Please plan to stay and meet in the Salt Cafe immediately following the Worship Celebration this coming Sunday.

Thank You!

During the Worship Celebration on Sunday, June 2, we will be recognizing
Will Stamey's graduation from Lake Norman High School.
Immediately after church service there will be a reception in the Salt Cafe
in his honor.  As Will prepares for this new season of his life, we are
asking his church family to write encouraging words, prayers, scripture or
blessings on a card and if the spirit moves you, please read it out loud to
Will.  Light refreshments will be served.

Thank You!

To the Ladies of Grace Fellowship:

Thank you all for the food, thoughtfulness, and prayers during my recent illness.  There are no words to explain how grateful Allan and I both feel.

                                Love and Blessings to All,
                                Carmel Lee

Missions is It!

God wants His people to partner with Him in the process of redeeming our lost world. Much of the Old Testament reports on His efforts to get the Israelites to be His "priestly nation" and "a light to the nations." But they kept forgetting His purpose in calling them together in the first place, despite the prophets He sent to remind them, as summarized by Stephen in Acts 7. Finally, Jesus came as Savior, but God's idea of having His people work with Him in the redemption process remained unchanged. The Book of Acts records how the church Jesus started became empowered by the Holy Spirit to tell of God's love far and wide. But His original intent is the same-He wants to be in a relationship with all the peoples of the world, and He wants us to help make it happen. This is missions, and it is the uniting theme of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. Here's a shorthand way to express it:

Missions is not part of the church program.

Missions is the church program.

Open Our Eyes, Lord

Jesus entreats (begs) us to look at Him with eyes wide open and hearts ready to receive.  The Holy Spirit, who lives in us is determined to take us where Jesus wants us to go and be the person He created us to be.  Remember.......Jesus wept over Jerusalem because they would not see.  God says, "Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know". Why would we not want to go with Him and be His to lead!!!!
Jeremiah 33:3

Prayer Room Volunteers Needed

God has said that His house is one of prayer.  It is the foundation for all ministry.  If you believe you are being called by God to pray on Sunday mornings during the teaching time please call Barbara Abbott at 828-478-1073, or e-mail her at prayer@gfellowship.org to sign up.  This is a rotation ministry and you will probably be called to pray once every two or three months.  As intercessor, you will be with the congregation for the praise and worship and then go to the prayer room at the back of the sanctuary during the time that Pastor Roy teaches.  There are many aids in the prayer room to help you pray.
