A Few Words from Teaching Elder Roy Mason..
Friends of Grace,
Our team returned safely from our Ghana mission trip Tuesday, March 26. We were able to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 153 different venues to approximately 35,000 people. Please continue to pray for all the new Christians as well as the Ghana pastors who will disciple them in the coming days.
I look forward to being with you this coming Sunday, where we will continue our study in the book of Joshua. Should you happen to miss any of these messages, click here to listen as soon as they are posted.

Missions is It!
God wants His people to partner with Him in the process of redeeming our lost world. Much of the Old Testament reports on His efforts to get the Israelites to be His "priestly nation" and "a light to the nations." But they kept forgetting His purpose in calling them together in the first place, despite the prophets He sent to remind them, as summarized by Stephen in Acts 7. Finally, Jesus came as Savior, but God's idea of having His people work with Him in the redemption process remained unchanged. The Book of Acts records how the church Jesus started became empowered by the Holy Spirit to tell of God's love far and wide. But His original intent is the same-He wants to be in a relationship with all the peoples of the world, and He wants us to help make it happen. This is missions, and it is the uniting theme of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. Here's a shorthand way to express it:
Missions is not part of the church program.
Missions is the church program.

Our Fears
Our fears are an opportunity to develop an intimate trust in Jesus. Prayer creates a union with Jesus and our connection with Him, and to God through Him; it draws us into the protective bubble wrap of God's grace. We use scripture such as Romans 8:37 - 39 to embed us into the personhood of Jesus who tells us that no one can snatch us away from Him (John 10: 28 - 30). Our focus (on Him) will determine our behavior, well-being and influences our faith. From Costly Grace by John Walker

Prayer Room Volunteers Needed
God has said that His house is one of prayer. It is the foundation for all ministry. If you believe you are being called by God to pray on Sunday mornings during the teaching time please call Barbara Abbott at 828-478-1073, or e-mail her at prayer@gfellowship.org to sign up. This is a rotation ministry and you will probably be called to pray once every two or three months. As intercessor, you will be with the congregation for the praise and worship and then go to the prayer room at the back of the sanctuary during the time that Pastor Roy teaches. There are many aids in the prayer room to help you pray.
