We had 200 in attendance for our 2013 SIRE Triple Crown Gala, tons of fabulous entertainment and auction items, a wonderful MC in Don Teague, touching testimony by SIRE parent Angela Dampeer and a great new video with thanks to Kiki Teague.  We even had a special surprise from the Gala chairs Sandra Cortez and Sabrina Shumsky, an ice sculpture echoing the Gala logo presided over by the living statue of a mermaid. But nothing could top . . .

Area Special Olympics

Congratulations are in order for SIRE's Equestrian competitors in Special Olympics for Areas 6 and 22.

Spring Site Head Instructor Shayna Bolton and Volunteer Coordinator Kathy Bigelow were

invited to New School in the Heights on April 24th to participate in a round table luncheon to learn about the school and to share information about SIRE.  They were also given a tour of the school grounds.  Everyone was very interested in the benefits of therapeutic riding. Shayna is working on creating a partnership that would allow their students to participate in weekly riding sessions.

Spring rider Christi Roberts has been an active member of 4-H for the past seven years.
