2012 Client, Volunteer and Staff Awards

Triple Play Vol

On Sunday, March 20th SIRE held their Triple Play Celebration at Minute Maid Park to show their appreciation to our wonderful volunteers and to celebrate the successes of our clients. The 2012 Client, Volunteer and Staff awards were also announced.  You can see a complete list of our honorees here.  Congratulations to all of them!
Around The Barn . . .

Ft. Bend hosted an Experiential ride for six residential physicians at the Richmond State Supported Living Center on March 27th.  You can read about it here.

The Spring site was visited by a group from reVision at St. Luke's United Methodist Church for an afternoon of learning about horses, cleaning tack and riding.  This is an organization that works with gang-affected youth and their families.  They all took to the horses immediately and had a great time.

The Spring herd has a new horse!  His name is Maximus and you can read his story here.

SIRE received a Quality of Life grant from the Christopher Dana Reeve Foundation and was featured in a very nice article in the Ft. Bend Lifestyles and Homes.

This spring SIRE will be participating in a program called "Horses Offering Occupational Therapy" made possible by a grant . . .

First Annual Strike Out Autism Event

skeeters autism

Volunteer and Horse Opportunities

Volunteers are still needed at all three sites and for all class times.  Potential volunteers can find more information and sign up for training on our website.  We also have a Volunteer Brochure that you can print out and share with your friends and family.

SIRE is seeking therapy horses.  You can get more information on our website under the tab You Can Help.  You can also print out our Horse Recruitment Brochure and pass it on to anyone who has a horse that they are interested in donating.
