| SIRE's Triple Crown Gala |
We're moving Uptown!
We're hosting our 30th Anniversary Gala at the lovely Galleria Westin Oaks Consort Ballroom. Another change is that we are moving months from May to
Saturday, April 20th.
There are many different ways you can join in the gala festivities now. You can identify potential sponsors and sponsorships to underwrite the gala's cost so that money raised from individual seat sales and the auctions can go straight to SIRE programs. Lots of room still exists for committee members. Please email us (committee chairs and staff) if you are interested in joining a committee. We are also looking for auction items such as professional services, a vacation home with some free weekends or a favorite business you would like others to try. Think of every place you like to go or everything you like to buy, especially those things you would love to receive as a gift or to splurge on. Then think of how much fun it would be to bid on such an item or win it at a discount, with all the money spent going to SIRE programs. That's what the gala auction is all about. Please email Bonnie Knowlton with your donations and ideas.
We are planning a spectacular night of fun and fundraising with our Triple Crown Gala including a reception with cocktail music, dinner and dancing, a silent auction, big board and live auction, special commemorative items for our 30th anniversary (think pearls) and so much
more. To mark Pat Roddy's years of volunteering and working for SIRE, most recently as managing director, we are recognizing Pat and her husband Bob Creasy as our honorary co-chairs. This very special night is a salute to years of hope and healing through therapeutic horseback riding and related equine assisted activities for thousands of Houston area children and adults with disabilities.
We hope you will join us in continuing the support of SIRE and hope to see you at the 30th Anniversary Triple Crown Gala.

2013 Birdies For Charity
|
We are inviting you to take part in a promotion called the Shell Houston Open Birdies for Charity Program. It centers on the PGA TOUR event set for March 25 - 31 at the Tournament Course at Redstone Golf Club. The Houston Golf Association is giving SIRE, Houston's Therapeutic Equestrian Centers, the opportunity to generate funds from this fun promotion. Click here for all of the information on how you can participate!

SUDS, SCENES AND SECRETARIAT
Our Suds, Scenes and Secretariat event was a great success! We had a large gathering at the Alamo Drafthouse in Katy on Saturday, January 26th. Everyone enjoyed a fajita dinner and a live auction followed by the movie, Secretariat. Along with all of the fun, close to $11,000.00 was raised for SIRE.

Our Ft. Bend site has welcomed several new horses! Click here to read all about them.
The Spring site welcomed a group from the Gateway school for the second year in a row. Click here to read about it.
The Hockley site is getting ready to host their next PATH International Workshop/Certification March 13th to 16th. If any SIRE volunteers are interested in auditing they should contact Anthony Busacca.
SIRE Board member Dale Mellencamp is arranging for his Rotary Club group to come out to the Hockley site on Saturday, February 9th to paint the old Welcome Wagon as the first step in turning it into Lili's new office.
All three SIRE sites sent horses and riders to Magnolia's JoyRide to participate in a friendly, non-competitive practice horseshow as a tune up for Top Hands which is just around the corner. Go here for the full story.
