Just Released: Criteria and Benchmark for Ending Chronic Homelessness

Permanent housing with individually tailored supportive services is the solution to chronic homelessness. To make sure all individuals experiencing chronic homelessness are on a quick path to permanent housing, communities need robust, coordinated systems that are focused on shared outcomes.

These criteria and benchmark are intended to help communities build and fine-tune those systems, to help define the vision of ending chronic homelessness within communities, and to align local efforts in support of that vision.

Non-Time-Limited Supportive Housing Part of Community Strategy to Prevent and End Youth Homelessness

As we work to achieve the goal of ending youth homelessness, we are continuing to explore the full range of interventions that can meet the needs of all young people. One intervention that is showing promise for youth with complex challenges is non-time-limited supportive housing.

Matthew Doherty Honored for Contributions to Ending Veteran Homelessness

National Coalition for Homeless Veterans Executive Director, Baylee Crone, presented our executive director, Matthew Doherty, with their prestigious Jerald Washington Memorial Founders' Award for his work to end Veteran homelessness at their annual conference last week.

"I feel incredibly humbled and honored by this award, which reflects the efforts and dedication of the entire team at USICH, and the hard work of folks across all of the federal agencies who make up the Council," Doherty said.
