"A Novel Idea" Kicks Off March 29
Join us on Sunday, March 29, at 2:00 p.m. at the Downtown Bend Library when we kick off the 12th annual "A Novel Idea" community read program. This year's selection is A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki. The kick-off event will give you an overview of the book as well as a preview of the extensive offering of lectures and programs lined up to support and enhance the community's interaction with the book and its themes. You can also get a first look by picking up a Reader's Guide at any DPL branch, or downloading one here. The guide includes an interview with Ozeki, program descriptions and more. "A Novel Idea" culminates with a free presentation by Ruth Ozeki at Bend High School on April 19 at 4:00 p.m. See the Reader's Guide for more information.

Time for Teens at DPL
Join us for Typewriters & Bookbinding at Atelier 6000 on March 14. Teens, bring your writing and type up some of it on vintage typewriters; then bind that into a handmade book! Registration is required for the program; register online here. The Teen Writing Group meets on Friday, March 20, at 4:00 p.m. at the Downtown Bend Library. No registration required. And get ready to go electric!
