I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy holiday season and thank you for all your support over 2014. 


At North York General Hospital, we've had a lot to celebrate this year - significant strategic strides, formidable milestones - but nothing brings us more satisfaction than our commitment to patient- and family-centred care. We continually strive to put patients first in everything we do.


Kimberly Wintemute wins prestigious family physician award

NYGH Family Physician Dr. Kimberly Wintemute


Dr. Kimberly Wintemute is the proud recipient of the 2014 Regional Family Physician of the Year Award from the Ontario College of Family Physicians (OCFP).

This award recognizes the outstanding contributions of seven OCFP members across the province who provide exemplary care to their patients and are passionately involved in activities that contribute to excellence in family medicine. Dr. Wintemute is the winner from region five (Toronto).


Dr. Wintemute serves as Medical Director of the North York Family Health Team and is a long-standing member of North York General Hospital's Department of Family and Community Medicine.

6 tips to help you manage diabetes over the holidays

The holidays are just around the corner and this time of year is often filled with family and friends getting together and sharing a meal. For the 10% of Canadians living with diabetes, the holidays can be challenging especially when it comes to navigating through all the food options.

The team from the Centre for Complex Diabetes Care and Diabetes Education Centre at North York General Hospital wants to share six tips to help guide you, or someone you know living with diabetes, this holiday season.

hrough several initiatives, we have managed to reduce our gas and electricity consumption as well as our waste production. We continue to explore new opportunities that will improve our performance even more. 

 

 

Participate in NYGH's Holiday Toy Drive 
Participate in North York General Hospital's Holiday Toy Drive.

 

Help make this holiday season a little brighter for children facing hospital stays by participating in North York General Hospital's annual Holiday Toy Drive until December 19. You can lift a child's spirits by donating a new, unwrapped toy. 


On December 17, the Honourable Michael Coteau, MPP (Don Valley East), and Toronto Fire Service Station 116 will join our President and CEO Dr. Tim Rutledge to help deliver these wonderful gifts to our young patients.
