It's Approaching Synergy Season!

Another way to to punctuate the theme for the April edition of The Wave is,
"It's Approaching, Synergy Season!"
That would read more like the Synergy Season is alive and on the move.
Which it is!
So be on the lookout for Synergy Season or it will overtake you! Then you will be caught up in something that will change your life. By His grace and power, God can work through you and your church to grow His kingdom.

As you can see, the need for God to provide grace, power, protection, wisdom, and strength for this upcoming summer cannot be overstated. The key is recognizing the spiritual needs and to ask God to work. We unabashedly say that we depend on God. So we need to all pray. In our last edition of The Wave, we introduced the new ongoing feature article that focuses on the network's prayer needs. Seeking God's help is our priority and we would ask you to join us in praying for God's glory.
And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.

God Answers Prayers in El Salvador
Chris Gober Shares Powerful Story
On our last El Salvador trip, we were leaving one of the churches when a teenage boy was standing by our truck. He was sobbing uncontrollably. I quickly found a translator and together we asked him what was wrong. He said that his mother has been diagnosed with cancer. It was obvious that this young man's world had been totally rocked. Several of us on the trip and the local pastors gathered around him and prayed for him and for his mother. We asked God to heal her, provide comfort for his family, and use the situation to draw them closer to Him.
Two months later we got a message from the pastor of the local church. The boy wanted us to know that his mother had just returned from the hospital with a clean bill of health. God answered all three of our prayers! He healed the mom, comforted the family, and used the situation to draw them all closer to him. Miraculous works of God are so encouraging to see up close, and a mission trip to El Salvador provides a wonderful front-row seat to God's amazing work. Won't you consider joining us for a discovery trip? You'll get to meet pastors in El Salvador, see their struggles, witness their faith, and share their victories. Best of all, you get to participate in the great work that God is doing in El Salvador to redeem it from the poverty, gangs, and sickness of this world. It's a blessing like no other! Special Moments at the Newly Renamed Golf Tournament
Tournament Now Renamed Chuck Masters Memorial

This year's tournament was highlighted by the special time shared by all as the tournament was renamed the Chuck Masters Memorial. Chuck passed away on April 5, 2013.
Marcia Masters attended and it was such a blessing for everyone to visit with her. She is such a special woman and her love for Chuck, her family, and friends was so evident. She is a true testimony of God's strength and grace.
Synergy Missions remembered Chuck by giving to Marcia a crystal plaque that marked the special occasion. Brenda Cassady collected photos and letters about Chuck's impact on so many people and put them in a scrapbook. Following the official renaming of the tournament by the Synergy Missions Board of Directors, Darryl Egley spoke on behalf of the board. He shared about the life changing impact that Chuck Masters had. The pavilion was flooded by warm memories and a true sense that God was receiving so much glory by a life well lived by Chuck. There was not a dry eye in this gathering. The tears were not tears of sadness of those without hope, but were expressions of the deep affection, fondness, gratitude, and love for Marcia, the Masters family, and Chuck.
Special thanks goes to the leadership and employees of Masters Processing Equipment (the company Chuck founded), for coming out and demonstrating such love and support for Marcia. The respect and admiration for Chuck was so evident by their attendance and warm spirit.
Thank you all for also honoring Chuck by participating in the Chuck Masters Memorial Fund. The donations were matched by a corporation and will help Synergy Sports Camps continue to grow and touch the lives children, teens, families, and churches. The gifts surpassed the matching goal of $5,000.

2014 Golf Tourney and Auction Thanks & Update
Fun in the Sun and an Abundance of Thanks
The Synergy Missions Board of Directors want to thank everyone who came out participate in the 2014 golf tourney. Your participation means all the world to Synergy and the network churches. There were 13 golf teams for this beautiful day of golf. The tournament was exciting and competitive as there was only a 1 stroke difference between the first place and the 2 teams tied for 2nd and 3rd place. Many other teams were only 1 or 2 strokes of that pace. Everyone really enjoyed the fun and friendship.
The tournament would not be possible without our volunteers. Special thanks to:
Joan Bacon Lanita Hereford Austin Staton Brenda Cassady DeAnna Beck Heidi Ulrich Darryl Egley Heather Simmons Nancy Jackson
Special thanks to our sponsors and donors. We especially want to thank the following:
Carlton Woods ( Mark Steinbauer, Lynn Agee Baer), Murphy Energy, Connect Transport, 1 Thing Better Foundation, Levi Love and L-Squared Engineering, Golf Galaxy, Mickey Simmons, Pat McCarver, The Woodlands First Baptist Church, Marcus and Millichap, James Avery, Falconhead Golf Club, see more...

Seeds Planted Years Ago Bear Fruit in Germany
A New Generation of Church Leadership Steps Up
Churches in Bramsche Germany Work Together
We had a very nice youth-camp from 8-11th of April, with 16 teenagers, only 5 were from the church. It was a wonderful time, many good baseball games, also soccer games, devotions, Bible studies, a whole day at our farm, .... very, very nice. We never would have such a youth camp without baseball camps. Lena and Piet (photo: both far right) were leaders with me, they are very responsible and helpful, and they would not be workers without baseball camp.
This year we also had "Passionsandachten" (Passiontime-devotions) with the different churches of the town of Bramsche. There were many people from the different churches - by the way, also a consequence of the baseball camps, because the churches came together through the camps. For example, Jimmy Larche lived with the Hentschels, and they are responsible for all Lutheran churches.

Billy Graham Connection!
Read About the Billy Graham Crusade in NY of 1957
One of Synergy Missions primary areas of focus is Long Island, NY and the church planting movement that is emerging there. Sterling Edwards is a catalytic church planter for that region and works closely with Synergy.
Just recently the Baptist Press News printed a very interesting article about the connection between the Billy Graham Crusade in NY of 1957 and what God is doing in Long Island today. Click on the picture below to read more.
May God move in our country like this again.
