10 Easy Ways to Cut Calories

Eating healthy doesn't have to mean huge sacrifices. Here are some simple swaps to help you cut calories from your regular snacks and meals.

1. Bag the Bagel

Instead of a high-calorie bagel for breakfast, try an English muffin.

2. Skim and Slim

Replace the Coffeemate or cream in your coffee with skim milk.

3. A Little Fruity

Try adding sweet fruit (bananas or berries) to your yogurt and cereal in place of sugar.

4. Ditch the Dressing

Swap your salad dressing for lemon juice and spices like oregano and basil.

5. Mayo Mayhem

Sandwiches with dijon mustard instead of mayo are tasty and lower in calories!

6. Salad vs Wrap

Instead of a burrito or wrap, lose the tortilla and opt for all the toppings on a bed of lettuce.

7. Poppin' In

When you're craving potato chips or french fries, try air-popped popcorn.

8. Go Small

Can't beat the sweet tooth? Enjoy a few mini chocolate bars rather than one full-sized treat.

9. Happy Hour

Instead of sipping on a margarita or daiquiri, try a lighter mojito or vodka soda.

10. Pasta the Sauce

Marinara pasta sauce has a fraction of the calories of alfredo sauce, with just as much flavour.
