Address Changes
Have you moved? Does Aurora Public Schools have a current address on file for you? If not, you will need to visit Centralized Admissions (no appointment necessary) to complete the "Student Demographic Change" form. You must bring current ***proof of address and a photo I.D. with you

Vision and Hearing Screenings
On Wednesday, December 11th, we will be doing hearing and vision screenings for all 9th grade students and all other students new to APS only. WE ask that students who have prescription eyeglasses make sure to bring them to school on this day.
 
Roots and Shoots Environmental Club
The Roots and Shoots environmental club will have its next meeting on Wednesday,  December 4th after school in Room 2501. We will be discussing our volunteer day at the Longhopes Donkey Shelter and plans for restoring Peak's green roof. Come find out what the club's all about!

The Vista Peak Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) information night will be held on December 12th from 5:30 to 6:30pm.  Please call or e-mail the Counseling Department if you would like attend.

Aurora Youth Commission

 

Kynton Barnes, a Vista PEAK 11th grader,  was recently sworn-in for his first term as a member of the Aurora Youth Commission. Kynton was sworn in on Monday, September 9, 2013, at the City Council Chambers in the Aurora Municipal Center. As Aurora Youth Commissioner, he will advise the City Council, City Manager, and Director of the Department of Parks Recreation and Open Space regarding the interests of youth in Aurora. The Commission's mission is to improve the well-being of Aurora's youth through representation,
service and action. This ceremony can be viewed throughout the month on the Aurora City Channel.
Auditions 
Auditions for the spring musical, Annie, will be held December 4th and 5th after school. All students are welcome to audition. See Mr. Stecklein or Mr. Richard for more information.  
 
Girls Tennis Fundraiser
Vista PEAK Girls Tennis is doing a fundraiser night at Top That Pizza in Southlands Shopping Center on December 5th
from 5PM-9PM. Please stop by and support the girls.
Cap & Gown Information
Herff Jones will be back on December 9 during lunches to collect orders and payments. If you have any questions about ordering you can call Herff Jones at 970-663-2668. You can also place your orders online.
The graduation gowns are being custom made for Vista PEAK Preparatory. Our class of 2014 will be the very first ones to ever wear these gowns. All gowns will be rented from Herff Jones. Cap and gown rentals are $40 and the students will keep the caps and tassels.
Finals Schedule
As we come to the end or our 1st semester classes will be holding finals the last 2 days of school before winter break. It is imperative that students attend their finals at the given times. Please note these 2 days will be considered half days and lunch will not be served. Buses will make their normal stops in the mornings and drop off earlier in the afternoons. Please see full finals schedule below.

Yearbook

TIME IS RUNNING OUT!  Purchase your yearbook today for $35.00 to guarantee that you receive one at the end of the year!  After December 19, the price will go up and it will be first come-first served with our remaining stock of yearbooks.  Reserve yours now and keep a piece of Vista Peak history forever.

 

 

ATTENTION PARENT/GUARDIANS OF SENIORS:  The deadline for submitting senior pictures, senior quotes, and purchasing custom space has been extended to December 15.  All picture and quote submissions should be sent to  vistapeakyearbook@gmail.com with your seniors last name and first name in the subject line (Last name_First name).  Custom space can be purchased in the following sizes: Whole page ($140.00)  ½ page ($100.00) or ¼ page ($50.00).  Payment must be made to the bookkeeper Mrs. McLellan NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 15.  Pictures and text can be emailed to  vistapeakyearbook@gmail.com, or you can drop a hard copy off at the school.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mr. Bakersky.


 

Athletics

Baseball Meeting 

We will have a baseball meeting on Thursday, December 5th at 6:00.  The meeting will be a chance for parents and athletes to meet coach Hettich, ask questions, and go over the winter activities.

 

Winter Sports Pass 

Winter Sport Passes are available in the athletics office.  For just $35 you can attend all home boys and girls basketball games.  Makes a great gift to give to a family member or friend!

Wrestling Fundraiser
'Tis the season for wrestling and delicious baked goods.  What better way to celebrate than waking up in the morning and eating a freshly baked butter braid straight from the oven.  This year, the VP Prep Bison Wrestling team is selling butter braids.  If you have never had one, ask someone who has....OMG delicious.   You have until December 6 (Friday) to order, they will be delivered on December 16th, just in time for the holidays!!  There are cherry, apple, blueberry and cream cheese, caramel cinnamon rolls, and cream cheese.  They are $12, and almost $6 comes right back to the program.  Mmm, I can taste them now!!  Please buy some from the wrestlers or see Coach Garred, We appreciate your support!

Parents Holiday Shopping Day

Do you need some time to yourself to get some holiday shopping done? The Poms team will be providing child care for elementary school aged children from 1-4pm on Saturday December 14th at the Exploratory building. The charge is $15 for one child and $10 for any additional children. We will also be providing gift wrapping for $3 so bring any unwrapped gifts!

 
Jazz Band Performance

The VP jazz band has been invited to perform at the esteemed Dazzle Restaurant & Lounge.  We would love to have families join them for this unique opportunity.  The group was invited by a VP parent who attended the last concert and was blown away by our kids and their abilities.  Please join us!

Talent Show
Our Annual Talent Show will be January 31.  Tryouts for the show will be held January 21-23.  Start thinking about what you will perform.  All acts must be fully prepared by tryouts!
