Dowd's sanity is put into question by his equally eccentric sister, Veta Louise.... Tickets are $3 with an activity card, $5 for students and seniors, $7 for adults, and $10 to see all three shows.

PoWeR Session #1
Our first PoWeR session of the year is next week, October 21-25th. Classes will be held from 8:25 am - 3:15 pm everyday. Please note that there is no late start Wednesday during PoWeR sessions. Check the Vista PEAK website to see if your student was accepted (list will be updated Friday at 4:00 PM) and to get bus stop information.

Guest Dance Teacher
We are looking for any member of our community that may have a dance background and would like to come in and be a special guest teacher. Classes would be Mon, Tues. & Fri 2:18-3:15 pm and Thurs. 1:30 - 3:15. Please contact Elizabeth Weiland if interested.

Yearbook Information
ATTENTION SENIORS: Remember to send a digital copy of your senior pictures to [email protected] with your name in the following format in the subject line: Last Name_First Name senior picture. If you do not provide us a picture, it will be tough to get you in the yearbook. If you have not taken senior pictures yet, contact Mr. Bakersky or come by room 1510 and we can work out a picture package taken by our talented yearbook photo staff.
TIME IS RUNNING OUT! The early sale pricing for the yearbook ends on October 25th. Make sure you bring $35.00 to the bookkeeper, or call during school operating hours if you would like to pay with a credit card. CU Volleyball
Recently the girls volleyball team joined other APS schools on a trip CU to watch a women's volleyball game. The trip was made possible with our partners at State Farm. The girls had a great time. Read the full article here.

IMPACT Aid
Aurora Public Schools will be applying for IMPACT Aid funding from the Department of Education and the Department of Defense for the 20145-15 school year. IMPACT Aid is designed to assist local school districts that have lost tax revenue due to their enrollment of students from families who live on tax-exempt Federal properties. Letters have been mailed home to parents who are a Military Family and/or Civilian Employed on Federal Property. We are urging all of our families who fit this criteria to please fill out the surveys as soon as possible. All surveys are due back to the district by October 25th. You may return all surveys to the Prep main office. If you have not received your letter or need another one you can find it here.

Cap & Gown Information
On November 5th at 8:30 am Tom Holley our rep from Herff Jones will speak with all our Seniors to discuss caps & gowns, class rings and graduation announcements. Mr. Holley works with all of the APS high schools and has been in the business for almost 20 years and brings a wealth of knowledge. Parents are welcome to join but are not necessary. Seniors will be responsible for bringing information home to the parents. Students will not be measured for caps and gowns and will just need to report their height and weight on the 5th. Our caps and gowns will be Navy Blue with Light Blue trim and are being specially made for Vista PEAK! The Herff Jones team will be back at Vista PEAK on November 19th all day to answer questions and collect orders.

Latino Student Alliance
Latino Student Alliance is coming to Vista Peak. The purpose of LSA is to encourage, support and celebrate our latino and latina students. Dr. Enriquez will facilitate this group. The first meeting will be Thursday, November 7th from 3:30-5:00 pm in room 1407. The activity bus will be available.

Yoga
We are so pleased to announce Vista PEAK's new
partnership with ONE Yoga studio! ONE Yoga is co-owned by Sherif Sakr and George Karl of the Denver Nuggets. Check out their website.
Yoga classes will be offered every week for all staff and community members at the Exploratory in room C-124. Classes will taught by a ONE Yoga certified instructor every
Tuesday from 4-5pm, and every Wednesday from 7-8pm. Payment is by donation only, so you get to name the price! Mats are provided. We are hoping for a big turnout, so please tell your friends, spouses, and community members about this opportunity (adults only please).

New Activity Bus Stop
Thanks to the transportation department we have a new activity bus stop for those students living near Mississippi and Tower. The new stop start on October 2nd and is located at 18767 E Louisiana, 1 block south east of Tower and Mississippi.

Boys 2 Men Workshop
This is a FREE workshop for young men, grades 9-12. We will watch and discuss the DVD entitled Bring Your "A" Game.
A 22-minute docu-drama that addresses the plight of young men, broadly-speaking, their options and influences (however limited), and provides solutions to change the course of the lives of many, emphasizing the essentiality of educational achievement.

H2O Outdoors at Keystone Science School
Aurora Water is sponsoring up to ten Aurora High School students to attend " H2O Outdoors" at the keystone Science School November 13-14. During the three day program, students will learn about their watershed while hiking the Continental Divide, get in the river and learn how to test water quality, work with students from around Colorado, learn from water experts in the field and debate water issues in a mock town hall meeting. Students only pay a $25 application fee, the rest is covered by Aurora Water! The application deadline is October 18th. For more information and to apply go to the website here.
