Accountability Committee
School Accountability Committees are responsible for (1) making recommendations to their principal concerning priorities for spending school funds principal concerning priorities for spending school funds, (2) making recommendations concerning the preparation of the school's Performance, Improvement, Priority Improvement, or Turnaround plan (whichever is applicable), (3) providing input and recommendations to District Accountability Committees and district administration concerning principal development plans and principal evaluations, and (4) meeting at least quarterly to discuss implementation of the school's plan and other progress pertinent to the school's accreditation contract with the local school board. SB 13-193 also authorized School Accountability Committees to publicize opportunities to serve on the School Accountability Committee and solicit parents to do so, assist in implementing the district's parent engagement policy at the school, and assist school personnel to increase parents' engagement with teachers.
The Accountability Meetings will be held on the 3rd Monday of each month from 5:30-6:15 pm. The first Accountability Meeting will meet on Monday, September 16th from 5:30-6:15 in the Preparatory Main Office Conference Room.
The district will also be holding a parent breakfast for parents on school Accountability Committees on September 27th from 7:30 - 9:s0 am at the PLCC building.

Family Leadership Summit

Parent Teacher Conferences
It's hard to believe put parent Teacher Conferences are just around the corner! Conferences will be held on September 11th and 12th from 4:00 PM - 7:30 PM. Conferences are a open house style format so parents may come anytime during the window and meet with the teachers they need to. Parents please please bring your students with you to conferences.

Report Cards
To help cut down on operating costs we will no longer be mailing home report cards. We are asking parents to utilize the Parent Portal to monitor their students grades. Teachers are working on updating grades weekly. If you have not set up your Parent Portal account please call or visit the main office to receive your activation key. If you have questions about Parent Portal you can use this help sheet or call the main office. Parents will receive a copy of their students progress reports during parent teacher conferences. If you have no means to view your child's grades electronically please call the main office for a paper copy.

Homecoming
Please save the date. Vista PEAK will be hosting our first annual Homecoming Saturday. We will have the Bison Stampede (5K and kids fun run) starting at 8 am, followed by a pancake breakfast (hosted by the Bison Backers), then a homecoming parade, with finally our football game at 1:00 v. Weld Central. All activities will be held here on campus. We hope for great attendance from our staff, students and community. Please spread the word!!!

H2O Outdoors at Keystone Science School
Aurora Water is sponsoring up to ten Aurora High School students to attend " H2O Outdoors" at the keystone Science School November 13-14. During the three day program, students will learn about their watershed while hiking the Continental Divide, get in the river and learn how to test water quality, work with students from around Colorado, learn from water experts in the field and debate water issues in a mock town hall meeting. Students only pay a $25 application fee, the rest is covered by Aurora Water! The application deadline is October 18th. For more information and to apply go to the website here.
