I would like to take this opportunity to remind you of the meeting tomorrow at 4:30 to elect our 2013 Bargaining Committee. The AUPE Constitution requires that a Negotiating Committee be elected by and from the general Membership at a meeting held at least four months prior to the expiry date of the contract to allow adequate time for preparation. Our Collective Agreement will expire on June 30, 2013.

It is important that all Local 039 members attend this meeting even if you are not interested in becoming a member of the committee or nominating someone. Your participation in the bargaining process is extremely important. Your vote counts!!

At the meeting, the selection of the committee will be as follows:

• Nominations will be accepted from the floor.
• Members will be asked to vote on their top 3 Candidates from those nominated.
• Candidates will be ranked by the number of votes received from the members present.
• The Candidates with the top 3 highest number of votes will become the 3 committee members.
• The Candidate with the 4^th highest number of votes will become the first alternate
• The Candidate with the 5^th highest number of votes will become the second alternate, etc.
