The USTA Men's Pro Circuit Tiburon Challenger starts this weekend. For more information regarding tickets and sponsorship, go to www.tiburonchallenger.com. You may also visit www.atpworldtour.com to see bios of the players coming to the Challenger. In addition, starting next Monday afternoon, when main draw play begins, matches will be live streamed. On the ATP website, go to the Challenger tab and scroll down to the live stream tab or watch directly on the Challenger website.

RECENT AND UPCOMING EVENTS

We had another terrific weekend at TPC! On Friday night, we had the Animal Guy (see a full album at https://goo.gl/photos/PaZYQu6skf8WrbVR6) and on Sunday we had a Wibits afternoon!

 

On Friday, October 7, we have Big Al the Magician at 5 pm.

 

 

IN MEMORIAM

 

The TPC mourns the passing of Dr. Thomas Schiff of Budapest, Hungary and Tiburon, California. Beloved husband of Eva Schiff, proud father of David and Victoria, and known as Papa Tomi to his grandkids, Anyu, Emme, and Kira. Tom and Eva have been club members since 1995.

 

For over 29 years, Tom served his country proudly with the Air National Guard 131st Tactical Air Command as a Lieutenant Colonel and was a high-respected member of the medical community, sharing his wisdom with thousands of students.

 

Tom was a friend to all and lived life with a passion that few could comprehend. But to coin his philosophy of life simply: Everything is A-OK.

 

Last Thursday Tom's son, David was here to meet with the Romeo and to reminisce.

It was a busy week for the swim team!

 

On Thursday, 3-time Olympians Keri-Anne Payne and David Carry spent an hour with the swimmers teaching them about 'straight-line' swimming, and the joys of open water swimming. They both brought a lot of excitement and energy to the 60+ swimmers who were vying for their attention.

 

 

On Friday, the team had it's first competition of any kind this Fall--a low-key time trial to see where the team is right now. It was great to see the kids in action--racing and having fun in the beautiful Fall weather. Now that we have our baseline, it's time to start training!...

 

We found four of the many brave members who competed in the RCP Tiburon Mile on Sunday, September 11, 2016. The waters were cold this year for the annual swim that goes one nautical mile from Angel Island to the shores of Tiburon. Congratulations to all the participants!

2016 TIBURON CHALLENGER

 

 

We're one week away and the excitement is building. Players will be rolling into town throughout the week and world-class tennis will be on display starting September 24th through October 2nd.

TIBURON CHALLENGER WILDCARD - MACKENZIE MCDONALD

 

Local East Bay resident, Mackenzie McDonald has been chosen as our main draw wildcard. Mackenzie received the wildcard last year and made it through to the semifinals, a fantastic result. Since last year he has turned pro and currently has a world ranking of #399. Best of luck Makkie!
