The $100,000 USTA TPC Challenger sponsored by Wells Fargo Bank is only seven weeks away. The U.S. Open ends September 11 and our qualifying will begin the weekend of September 24. Tournament Director, Brendan Curry has been working on this event since the finals concluded last year. As always we anticipate a top field of participants. We should know our players list from the USTA three weeks before our event starts. Members interested in tickets or a box should contact Brendan at Brendanc@Tiburonpc.org or visit our website at www.tiburonchallenger.com.

CAMPBELL JOHNSON OUT DUE TO INJURY; ZSOFI SUSANYI STAYS ON
We are disappointed to announce the departure of Campbell Johnson from our TPC staff. Campbell underwent a second shoulder surgery 5 months ago and unfortunately is unfit to return to teaching. We thank him for his positive influence and mentorship of our junior players and adults alike, and wish him well with his continuing rehabilitation and hopes for a full recovery in the near future.
On a positive note, Zsofi Susanyi, who was filling in for Campbell while he was out, has accepted a full time teaching position at the TPC. We welcome Zsofi, a Cal Berkeley graduate, player and assistant coach of the Berkeley woman's team to our staff. Zsofi has hit the ground running here at the Club, and created quite a following already amongst adults and kids of all ages, notably our top juniors. Zsofi, a Hungarian native, was ranked in the top 15 in the world juniors and in the 500's WTA in her first year on tour. She has a wonderful attitude, skill set and work ethic and we are fortunate to have her on our staff.
With two more weeks left for summer camps we still have spots available for our juniors to join in the fun.
Please email Julie at juliec@tiburonpc.org to sign up, or complete a registration form in the Club lobby.
