A big thank you to Food and Beverage Director/Chef Jameson Miller and Café Manager Nathaniel Parker for all of the work they put into making this event a success. We have two upcoming events, a Seis de Mayo Party on May 6 with dinner and live music and a Mother's Day Brunch on Sunday, May 8.
TENNIS RACKET DONATION DRIVE
We have a bin located in the club lobby for members to donate discarded tennis rackets to the Youth Tennis Advantage. Our deadline has been extended to April 30. The rackets will be used by inner city kids learning to play tennis. If interested, you may complete a form for an "In-Kind Donation." Stop by the front desk with your racket. www.YTAScholars.org.

CAFE
PELLET ESTATES WINEMAKER DINNER REVIEW
- by Nancy Shapiro & Luis Doffo: Café & Social Committee Chairs
Bravo to our TPC Food & Beverage Director Jameson Miller for his inaugural Winemaker Dinner, held in our Café on Thursday, April 21, 2016.
Once again, the setting for our Winemaker Dinner revealed how our Café can be transformed to host an elegant and sophisticated event. White tablecloths adorned with colorful hydrangeas and tea candles created a simple yet stylish arrangement. The community tables made the setting more intimate and encouraged group engagement and discussion throughout.
The evening started with a relaxed cocktail hour, to provide time for the guests to arrive. Cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres were luscious crepes filled with cucumber and herbed cream cheese - tasteful yet subtle to cleanse the palate. The Pellet Estate 2014 Un-oaked Chardonnay, Sunchase Vineyard, complimented the appetizers with an expressive aroma filled with pears, pineapple and apple blossoms. The silky texture of the wine glides across the mouth intertwined with flavors of honeydew melon and early season nectarines. Continue reading ...
UPCOMING EVENTS: NEW LIQUOR POLICY STATEMENT Last week the Board of Governors approved the recommendation from the Café Committee regarding the new Liquor Policy Statement. The new policy is effective immediately.

SWIM TEAM UPDATE The Swim Team had a busy weekend! On Saturday, Nice Mike and I took a squad of sixteen 10-under swimmers who qualified to the Pacific Swimming 10-under Championships in DeAnza. the crew performed great!...and for many, it was their first taste of a 'big' meet. (Over 60 teams and 600 swimmers!). Way to go Tuna! On Sunday, we rallied the troops for our annual laps for $$$ fundraiser, the Tuna-thon. Overall, we had approx. 100 participants swimming laps, participating in fun relays, eating donuts, and supporting the team. The event was capped off by one of the best team cheers in recent memory (icky la picky wicky?) led by Nice Mike! It was certainly a weekend where I was proud of our team (swimmers, parents, and coaches).
