TPC IN THE ATP WORLD TENNIS HEADLINES
Julio Peralta, ATP Tour professional player coached by TPC's very own Dan Grossman, along with partner Horacio Zeballos, took the doubles title in the $250,000 Brazil Open, Sao Paulo a week ago. In a tournament that saw the No.1 pair in the world Bruno Soares/Marcelo Melo, this is a wonderful achievement. Julio has participated in the Tiburon Challenger numerous times, including in 2015, and with the guidance of Dan Grossman has reached his career high ATP doubles ranking of #70.
We are fortunate to see Julio practicing at the TPC when he is in town and look forward to his next visit.
Congratulations guys, we'll be following you in the weeks to come.
CAL V STANFORD: APRIL 3; 11 AM A couple of weeks ago a group of around 20 TPC members gathered at Stanford University to watch Cal vs Stanford Men in what turned out to be a barn burner of a match with Cal taking the victory. Now it's the Women's turn with Stanford traveling to Cal Berkeley on April 3rd to take on Cal in what is sure to be a performance to remember. TPC new hire, Zsofi Susanyi played for Cal Berkeley graduating last year and is rounding off her position as Assistant Coach for the women's team with the match against Stanford. Many of our TPC junior players have the skills and aspirations of playing collegiate tennis and watching tennis of this level is a priceless experience for them. The match start time is 11am. This sounds like a lot of fun to me, we hope to see you there! Please let me know if you will be attending to give us the chance to organize a possible meet and greet for our TPC juniors players.
TPC JUNIORS ARE USTA DOUBLE TITLE WINNERS Emma Pell and Sofia Prieto put on a fine performance in the 6th Annual Marin Spring Junior Challenger at Redwood High School winning the 14/u doubles title on February 28. Both Sofia and Emma are committed TPC junior players participating in clinics and taking lessons from coach, Josh Levinson. Congratulations Emma and Sofia, your hard work and dedication is inspirational for the TPC juniors.
