GENERAL MANAGER REPORT

Dear TPC Members,

Thank you to the members who were so generous with donations to the "Go Fund Me" accounts for Josh Levinson and Daniel Joseph. The fund for Josh is now closed and the great news is he has received clearance from his doctors to teach. It's great to have Josh back on the courts teaching!

The Tiburon Peninsula Club and the Belvedere Tennis Club have collaborated on a "Go Fund Me" account for Daniel Joseph. Daniel's son who lives in Haiti has been missing since late December and Daniel plans on going home on February 14 to help with the search. I would like to acknowledge the generosity of the club members and Boards from TPC and BTC. In addition to the "Go Fund Me" account, the TPC Board will pay for Daniel's roundtrip plane ticket to Haiti and the BTC Board will pay for his rent and household bills for a month. If you would like to make a contribution to Daniel Joseph, please visit gofundme.com/ytk9hr2k

The TPC Super Bowl Party is coming up this weekend, Sunday, February 7. To RSVP, contact Bren Boyd, Food & Beverage Director at: brenb@tiburonpc.org or (415) 937-5007.

Till next week,

Cal vs Stanford
Stanford, February 20: 1 pm

We have a great opportunity for TPC to gather a crowd and go watch two of the best collegiate teams in the nation do battle at Stanford University. Our junior tennis players would benefit tremendously from watching these great players compete, a few of which have played in our Tiburon Challenger and are clearly world class tennis players.

I have spoken to Brandon Coupe, former TPC Head Pro and current Assistant Coach of the Stanford Team and he would love to see us there. If we can get a good size group of at least 10 junior players together, Brandon would be willing to organize a meet and greet with the Stanford players and perhaps Head Coach, Paul Goldstein as well.

TPC also has a strong relationship with Cal Berkeley and Head Coach Peter Wright who would also love to see us there. Many of you know that Campbell Johnson, TPC Head of Junior Development, played for Cal Berkeley under Peter Wright and will certainly be there to show his support.

Many of our TPC junior players have the skills and aspirations of playing collegiate tennis and it's our thought that an outing like this would be an extremely inspiring event for them. The match start time is 1pm and it is not uncommon to see crowds of up to 500 or 600 people. This sounds like a lot of fun to me, we hope to see you there!

Please let me know if you will be attending to give us the chance to organize a meet and greet for our TPC juniors players.

There is also an opportunity for our TPC juniors, who have experience, to ball boy this event. If you are interested, please email me at BrendanC@tiburonpc.org.

Match of the Weekend - 4.5+ Men Slay Canon 3-0

It was a cold and windy (to say the least - 25+ mph swirling gusts) day at Canon. Add in some shadows and a tough sun, it made for really tough conditions. At number 2 doubles Eilers and Judd took on Clay Flanagan and Scott Harrison. Clay is new to Marin County (Petaluma), a solid guy with a very good game (big serve and great volleys). Eilers and Judd battled early losing a multi-deuce game on Clay's first service game. Finding themselves down an early break 0-2, they started to get the feel and rallied to go up 5-4. Up 15-love, Clay tracked down a deep ball in the corner but blew out his hamstring returning the shot. He had to retire but our guys had the set in hand up 30-love. TPC up 1-0.
