GENERAL MANAGER REPORT

Dear TPC Members,

We are requesting member assistance for two of our valued employees at the TPC. Separate "Go Fund Me" accounts have been established for both staff members - simply click the respective links below to contribute.

Tennis Professional, Josh Levinson has endured a tough time the past few months. Late last year, his father passed away at an early age. Subsequently, Josh experienced two seizures and the most recent one has sidelined him from work. He has undergone tests and is waiting for the green light to start teaching again. Josh is a hard working young man and really wants to improve the game of every member who steps on the court with him! Please visit https://www.gofundme.com/fxdu783w to be directed to his "Go Fund Me" account.

Maintenance person, Daniel Joseph is someone you may not see often. He works mainly behind the scenes as a handyman, working on many tasks throughout the day, including drying tennis courts after it rains. Daniel works at both TPC and the Belvedere Tennis Club, and has other side jobs including a carpet cleaning business. His family includes his wife, Celiane, his three daughters and one son. They live in Port-au-Prince, Haiti while he works in the US to send money home to them. On December 21, Daniel informed us that his 17 year old son is missing. Daniel will return home within the next two weeks to participate in the search and has already incurred expenses as he prepares to return to Haiti. A "Go Fund Me" account has been established for Daniel that will be shared by the TPC and BTC to help with his expenses for this trip. To contribute, go to https://www.gofundme.com/ytk9hr2k.

South Property Improvement/Junior Tennis Facility Update

The South Project Improvement project has been submitted to the Town of Tiburon for review. The Town requested additional information, which we have provided and the town administrator said it will take 3-6 months before the council will formally review. The optimal timeline would be Town Review and Planning approval this spring, with construction to start during the slower month of August 2016. The Club will, of course, have little control of the speed in the planning procedures. Timeline for construction will be 3-4 months.

The Club loses these courts after 4:30 pm from mid-September to April because of the shorter days of winter. With school and work schedules, these courts and this area of our property is sorely underutilized. The addition of lights, bathrooms and a small clubhouse would help to further integrate this part of our facility to the property as a whole through improved utilization and efficiencies. Member commitment to this project will be well worth our collective efforts.

Sustainable and Responsible Investing

Mr. Peter Bogardus from Wells Fargo will give a short presentation on "Sustainable and Responsible Investing" with guest speaker Andrew Olig this Wednesday at 6 PM in the Conference Room. Light hors d'oeuvres will be served. Please click here for more information.

Till next week,

CAFE

"Excellent" and "delicious" are the first words that come to mind when describing our first TPC Winemaker Dinner, held in our Café on Thursday, February 21st @ 6:00 pm.

The Café transformation, to create a simple yet elegant ambiance for the event, was remarkable. White tablecloths, beautiful flowers, and candles combined with place cards set in corks, provided the right combination of adornments for two nicely set community tables; each detail playing a role in composing an intimate, stylish setting for the Winemaker Dinner. The pleasant ambiance created the perfect backdrop for the sensory delights of the food and wine to jump into action.

The first course - micro greens with thinly sliced sushi-grade salmon and ahi, adorned with a variety of pomolo and cara cara oranges, was delicate and fresh, with a subtlety of flavors mixing well with the 2014 La Pitchoune Vin Gris of Pinot Noir - Sonoma Coast. The Vin Gris has a silky and bright taste, with a vibrant blend of berries, watermelon and hibiscus - the hint of citrus created a beautiful finish. This wine will awaken the palate and provide a perfect paring for sunny afternoon hors d'oeuvres or a warm cozy "lite" supper on a rainy winter evening.

Bottom picture, L-R: Tracy Nielson - owner of La Pitchoune Winery, Bren Boyd - TPC Food and Beverage Director, and Andrew Berge -Winemaker for La Pitchoune Winery.

The second offering - Duck "Mu Shu" with scallion pancake and Napa cabbage, with a subtle pinot shallot hoisin sauce, provided an understated burst of flavor and blend of textures, which paired perfectly with the 2013 La Pitchoune Pinot Noir English Hill Vineyard - Sonoma Coast. The wine exhibits flavors connoting a salty, winter sea breeze brushing the edges of a craggy, rustic shore. At the same time, lively aromas of red fruits mingled with juniper, sumac and cedar provided a smooth start to a well-rounded yet bold finish of cranberry and pomegranate flavors.
