AQUATICS

Happy 2016! In an effort to make our pools as accessible and inviting as possible, the Aquatics Department, working with the Aquatics Committee, recently decided to:
  1. Lower the Lap Pool temperature to 81 degrees
  2. Raise the water level of the Lap Pool as much as possible
  3. Install a safety net between the Lap Pool and the Main Pool to be used during water polo practice
In terms of execution, the Lap Pool water level has been raised, the safety net will be installed as soon as it arrives, and the Lap Pool temperature will be adjusted to 81 degrees on February 15, 2016.

We appreciate your patience as we make these changes.

See you around the pool,

The Aquatics Committee and The Aquatics Department

AUSSIE OPEN 2016

2015 Tiburon Challenger Champion, Tim Smyczek has qualified for the Australian Open and will join Tiburon 2015 finailst Denis Kudla in the main draw along with Ryan Harrison who also made an appearance at our tournament last year. The up-and-coming American star, Taylor Fritz continued his great form of late also by successfully qualifying for the first Grand Slam of the year. Fritz will take on fellow American Jack Sock in the first round. Sock is a previous winner of the Tiburon Challenger and has risen to #22 in the ATP Tour world rankings.

19 year old American Noah Rubin earned himself a wild card into the tournament through his performance on the USTA Challenger Circuit last year and has won his first round against Frenchman Benoit Paire, currently ranked #18 in the world. A fantastic result and we look forward to keeping an eye on his progression. Other Americans in the draw include Bjorn Fratangelo, Rajeev Ram, Austin Krajicek, Donald Young and of course Steve Johnson, Sam Querrey and John Isner, all except for Isner have played in the Tiburon Challenger on their way to the big stage.

A strong presence for the American players at the Aussie Open and we wish them all the best!

SPRING SEASON STARTS MARCH 15

March 15th will see the beginning of a new era for our TPC Spring Junior Program. We will be shifting to the "Team Based Philosophy' across all levels and are extremely excited for the opportunities that lie ahead for our youth.

Included in the 'Team Packages' will be weekly team practices, USTA Junior Team Tennis League, travel coach to away USTA Junior Team Tennis matches, weekly game days,inter-club matches, team t-shirt and more.

Our youth will enjoy many more match playing opportunities and thrive in the team environment. All TPC junior players have the opportunity to be a part of the TPC Junior Team as a whole and we look forward to the benefits that this new approach will offer our children.

Please stay tuned for more information.

BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND

Visualization is a very powerful tool in tennis. See yourself executing the shot successfully, creating a picture of the next point in your mind of how you would like it to play out.

If you can see it, you can achieve it.

Have great week!

Brendan
