GENERAL MANAGER REPORT

Dear TPC members,

Hoping all of our members enjoyed a nice New Year's holiday and wishing all of you afun and healthy year at the TPC!

BACK LAWN AREA

The back lawn area behind the Café was aerated last week, very timely with the rain that we anticipate this week. The area will be closed for another week before we reopen.

CAFE UPDATE

The Café Food and Beverage Minimum charge is $400 per year, divided into two 6-month increments. Regular members are asked to spend $200 between January 1 and June 30 and $200 between July 1 and December 31. (Senior members are exempt from the minimum.)

Last month the Board of Governors met for their monthly meeting. During that time they reviewed and approved a proposal from the Café Committee to have members pay a 9% "service charge" on all food and beverage purchases in the Café. Following discussion, the Board approved the proposal that will begin February 1, 2016.

To provide some context and history, starting in 2008, members paid a 12.50% "service charge" on all Café food and beverage purchases. In 2012, we outsourced the Café to an outside vendor who charged a 15% "service charge." Since 2013 when the Club started managing the Café operations again, the 9% service charge has been absorbed within the Café expenses and paid out to the Café staff. The combination of an hourly wage and the "service charge" makes the compensation in the Café commensurate with local clubs and restaurants. The goal for the Café staff will be to provide top level service that will include efficiency, cleanliness and will include staff bussing and cleaning of tables regularly.

Till next week,
