3RD ANNUAL MEMORIAL DAY CARNIVAL
What a ton of fun! TPC's Memorial Day Kids Tennis Carnival saw 33 kids ages 5-12 engaged in exciting games like Skyball, Fruit Salad and Alligator Alley. Coaches Keith, Josh and Brendan were assisted by the very capable and fun loving Sara Tierney in leading our TPC kids through this extremely fun event. After working up an appetite all the kids made their way up to the clubhouse to enjoy the poolside BBQ and the rest of the day's festivities!
Thank you to all who participated and contributed to making this a most memorable event.

TPC HEAD PRO ARRIVING JUNE 1ST!
We are proud and excited to announce the arrival of Luke Shields, TPC's new Head Pro. Originally from Grand Junction, Colorado, Luke is fresh out of the collegiate teaching arena where he has been Associate Head Men's tennis coach for the Boise State program.
The former three-time collegiate All-American finished his seventh season as a collegiate coach. He helped guide the team to an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) national ranking of No.15, powered by a 28-5 overall record. Boise State went 8-0 versus Mountain West Conference opponents, 12-0 against teams from the ITA Mountain Region and 11-6 versus nationally ranked opponents. The team won its second-straight Blue Gray National Tennis Classic championship, third-consecutive league championship
Shields helped coach five players to MW postseason honors, four to MW All-Academic team recognition, two to MW Scholar Athlete Awards (for maintaining a 3.5 or better accumulative GPA), the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic Most Valuable Player and Sportsmanship Award winners.
Shields also coached at the University of Washington where he was the assistant women's coach for two seasons. During his time at Washington, Shields helped guide the team to top 50 finishes in 2012 and 2013 ITA rankings. He also helped guide the Huskies to win the 2013 Pac-12 doubles championship for the first time in school history.
As a player, Shields was ranked as high as fifth nationally in singles and #4 in doubles during his career. He made the NCAA Doubles Championship all four years, with round of 16 finishes in 2005 and 2008, and made the NCAA Singles Championship three times with a round of 16 run in 2005. He was named an ITA All-American in singles in 2007 when he finished the year ranked 13th, and grabbed All-America honors in singles and doubles in 2005 as a freshman, finishing the 2005 season ranked eighth in doubles. The Broncos won the Western Athletic Conference team title in 2005, 2006, and 2007.
Shields also excelled in the classroom and was recognized for his exemplary sportsmanship. He received the USTA Sportsmanship Award at the 2007 USTA/ITA National Team Indoor Championships and was named to the WAC All-Academic Team all four years of his career.
Before college Shields had a short career playing professional tennis before college reaching an ATP ranking in the top 1000 at the age of 17. He decided not to pursue a professional career after college because he found his passion in coaching and teaching.
We look forward to welcoming Luke to the TPC as a very valuable member of our Team.
