GENERAL MANAGER REPORT
Approximately 12 months ago, TPC held a membership vote regarding three key issues for Club improvements spread over a 5 year time frame. I would like to give you a progress report.
- The Café Project is now finished with all Town and County approvals completed. The scope included the remodel of the Café, expansion of the back of the house, and new interior and exterior furnishings. The budget for this piece of the project was $758,000 and we are waiting for some outstanding bills to come in. We will let you know in the coming weeks what the final tab came to.
- The South Property Improvement has been ongoing, but we do not anticipate work to start until next year. The four main components include facility enhancements, lights on the lower tennis courts, addition of two new tennis courts, and additional storage. This is part of a 5 year plan that will be phased as Capital funds are available for the respective projects. Last Monday, two members of our Board of Governors, our Architect and Lighting Consultant met with local neighbors to discuss the project, particularly the lights. The discussion evolved into the lights on the upper and lowers six courts. The upshot of the meeting was the plan to install new LED lighting that will provide technology and efficiency, albeit at a higher price tag. The next step will obtain Planning Commission approval with the Town of Tiburon.
- The third and final piece is our new Food and Beverage Minimum of $400 per year. The minimum is divided into two 6-month periods ending June 30 and December 31. Members are required to spend $200 during this time frame lest they be assessed the difference. The lower portion of every member's monthly statement, which members receive either in the mail or electronically, shows how much is remaining to spend to avoid the minimum being assessed. This information is also available when members log on to their membership account.
ALSO:
- Last week our interim Food and Beverage Director, Travis Callison submitted his resignation effective May 1 to pursue a career in financial sales. During the past two years, Travis has been at TPC as a server, Assistant Café Manager and most recently as our interim F&B Director. We thank Travis for the effort and good work that he has provided and we wish him the best of success. We would also like to thank Café Committee Chair, Mike Seifer who stepped down after three years of leading our committee. Nancy Shapiro has been named interim Café Committee Chair.
- Thank you for your patience as our Fitness Room was repainted last week during the Spring recess. And thanks to our House and Grounds Committee, particularly the 2014 and 2015 liaisons, Cris Schonefeld and Chip Moreland.
Till next week,
Jerry Pang General Manager
