A Message of Thanks from the Friends

On behalf of the entire Board of the Friends of Tiverton Libraries, we would like to thank you for your generosity, support, and hard work in making the 2015 Friends Annual Book Sale our most successful book sale ever.  Thank you to the event planning committee.  We thank all who donated wonderful books in the month leading up to the sale and the 17 people who worked hard collecting and sorting more than 10,000 books.  We thank the 27 volunteers who moved the books on September 17th from the Essex Library building over to Tiverton Public Library.  Thank you to all the local businesses that donated gift certificates for our Cook's Night Out raffle, and to our anonymous donor who provided a beautiful quilt for the quilt raffle.  Thank you to all those who volunteered with set-up, staffing and clean-up,  including the young men from the skateboard park who pitched in to help move books after the sale.  Thank you to the Tiverton Lions Club for providing lunch to volunteers and book sale patrons, to the staff of the library for their assistance, and to all those who provided baked goods and made the bake sale portion so successful.

In addition to earning funds to support Summer Reading, Museum Passes and other library programs, the Friends were able to donate over $250.00 worth of board books to the children's room, and other children's books were provided to an early reading initiative in Westport, and to a number of area classrooms.  Other great books were donated to the Tiverton Senior Center.

We cannot thank you enough for your support of the Friends of Tiverton Libraries.

Debra Darkow and Kathy Gallagher,
Co-Presidents
We gratefully acknowledge the many donations made in memory of Lois Hartnett and extend our condolences to the Hartnett family.
