Meditation SIG
Monday, Jan. 11, 2016,
4:15 p.m.
Reuter Center, Room 120

Please join us for a deeply relaxing flute meditation, a sound journey on the healing sounds of the Native American style flutes made and played by Geri LittleJohn. You will be invited to focus on your breath and to sink into your body to be better able to hear your own wisdom.  You will have an opportunity to travel deep into your imagination and connect with the natural world we live in by tuning into the voices of the wooden flutes.  And you will be offered a time of silence and integration to allow us to step back into our lives feeling rejuvenated, grounded, and clear.

The meditation will be followed by an opportunity to reflect on the experience and to ask any questions you might have about the flutes themselves.

This meeting is open to all OLLI members.

It offers services everyone should check out and a great team of people to implement them. And did you know there are recent developments in regulations to make more cell phones hearing aid compatible?

Come to the meeting of the Asheville Chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America on Saturday, January 16, 10.30 a.m. at Care Partners, 68 Sweeten Creek Road, when Kim Reed of DSDHH  will speak about telephones and hearing. And please, if you come, bring a small snack to share.

Dear OLLI Members,
We had a great turnout for the New Member Welcome on Friday, January 8.  Many thanks to Ann Cowden and her New Member Welcome committee, to Flo Byron and her calling committee, to all of our OLLI Steering Council members and committee members who turned out to welcome new members and to Sandy Bowles and Kathleen Mainardi for their work as chairs of the membership committee to create a sense of community for all of our members.

OLLI staff will be happy to have all of our members back tomorrow, Monday, January 11, to begin the Winter 2016 winter term in College for Seniors.  Please note that this is also the first day for UNC Asheville's spring term, so campus will be a busy place this week.  We have listed below some places you can park to avoid the crowds right around the Reuter Center. We will have plenty of people here to direct you to classes and to help with logistics, but if you would like to know where your classes will be held, we have provided a link below to the daily schedule.

We rely on all of our members to bring us new ideas and to contribute time and talent to make this a special place.  We are truly grateful for the many people who contribute to OLLI's success,
Catherine Frank
Executive Director

The Membership Committee needs OLLI members to volunteer for one or two hours at special events like New Member Welcome and Member Appreciation Socials. This is a great way to meet other OLLI members and contribute to OLLI without making a long-term time commitment.

If you are interested in helping at these events for an hour or two, please contact Kathleen Mainardi, kkmainardi@gmail.com
