Dear OLLI Members, For the past couple of weeks we have managed decisions about closings and delays that balance our need to maintain our busy programming schedule and preserve our members' safety.  Here at the Reuter Center we will all be happy to see spring arrive.
One of the most difficult decisions we made was to change our registration to a random process. The decision seemed like the right one when we awoke on Tuesday, February 24, to a blanket of snow and icy roads.  Over the course of the week that we received registrations, we took in over 1030 that have been assigned random numbers for data entry.  Many people have said they welcomed a random process, and many have said that they are glad to be part of a "fair process" that takes very little time standing in line. Others would have liked to see a more refined process that also included the opportunity to make priority assignments since they felt that would give participants a chance to get at least one course they assigned a high priority. Still others willing to line up to ensure a prime spot are disappointed to lose that opportunity to have some control of their place in the courses they will attend. We have done our best to manage our resources under challenging circumstances. It is a testimony to the work of the curriculum committee and to our great College for Seniors instructors and staff that so many people are interested in learning for the love of it.  We recognize that no registration system will meet the needs of all of our members equally.  We also know that as a community we provide a wealth of learning and social opportunities, and we hope that whatever courses you get, you take this opportunity to find a new favorite instructor or enjoy the programming of a new community partner.
We will send schedules late on the afternoon of Monday, March 9, and the add/drop process will begin at 8 am on Tuesday, March 10.   We appreciate the passion each of you brings to your participation in our community,  Catherine Frank Executive Director |

policies and ineffective public services, Indian voters catapulted Narenda Modi and his Bharatiya Janata Party to power in the country's 2014 elections. For voters, Modi embodied real change and an India that wasn't stumbling, but running, to greatness. But for the US, change in India brings its own set of unknowns, heralding an age   ruled by a prime minister new to national office and other policymakers who have been out of the public eye for a decade. Now, the US has to determine how to best secure its interests as India asserts itself on the world stage. Free admission for WAC members and students; $10 general public.
