Dear OLLI Members, We hope you have enjoyed the long holiday weekend and are ready to get back to our College for Seniors courses and all of our OLLI activities on Monday.

Please be sure to mark your calendars for the Summer Member Roundup Barbecue.  This year we are experimenting with an RSVP to see if we can better gauge the amount of food we will need.  We encourage new and longtime members of OLLI to join us.  This is a great way to meet with friends old and new and to enjoy the unique fellowship of our community. Grateful for our community of teachers and learners, Catherine Frank Executive Director |

 | Caption Call

Do you have a hard time hearing on the phone? You may be interested in a CaptionCall phone. This phone helps people with hearing loss to use the phone with confidence with friends and family. It uses a regular phone line combined with high-speed internet to caption the voice of the person on the other end of the line so you can read along as they speak, similar to closed captioning on your television. CaptionCall is made available free to all qualified users as a fulfillment of the Americans with Disabilities Ace (ADA). You will need a professional certification of hearing loss to obtain the free phone, including installation. For further information, contact Alex Bardsley at CaptionCall Centralized Scheduling. Email, ABardsley2@captioncall.com, or call either (855)405-6313 or (801)293-6583.
Thanks to OLLI member John Carpenter for bringing this service to our attention. |

 |  ARE  YOU  HEARING  THE BIRDS?      Are your granchildren's words a mystery?  Is tinnitus all you hear?   Hearing loss is often slow to develop. Many of us don't realize how much we are missing, though others around us can tell.    Don't postpone finding out. The brain adapts more easily to hearing aids when the hearing loss is mild.     So, if you have any doubt, get your hearing tested!     This is a message from OLLI's Hearing Advocates. For more information, contact Ann Karson, 828-665-8699 or akarson57@gmail.com. |
