Dear OLLI Members, In our College for Seniors, civic engagement, and life transitions courses and Workshops we offer a rich and varied curriculum taught by world-class instructors. In a vibrant community like Asheville, there are many opportunities for learning, but here at OLLI at UNC Asheville, we thrive because we are a community of teachers and learners.  Courses are not monologues by an expert, but rich exchanges of information both inside and outside the classroom. Participants are not only "students" but contributors to an ongoing respectful dialogue. People come to learn and end up forming rich friendships and finding inspiration for new ways of looking at the world.    To help us celebrate our community, we hope that you will join us this Thursday, June 26, at 10 am for a group photo at the Reuter Center. We want to take a group photo, as full and representative of our membership as possible, that will be used on our our print and electronic publications throughout 2014-15. Your presence will help us capture the energy and joy of our membership; please consider making an effort to be at the Center this Thursday.
Our member socials also allow us to express and celebrate our community; we hope that you will join us Wednesday, July 16, 4:30-6:30 pm for our annual Membership Round-Up Social. This year we are going to try to use an RSVP system to help us better gauge the amount of food we will need.  Please see the link in this newsletter.
We are also excited to be able to offer next Sunday, June 29, 2 pm, the MOTION Dance Creativity Workshop; you don't have to be a dancer to learn the lessons of creativity this group has perfected. Thanks to OLLI member Susan Coyle for bringing this opportunity our way.

With gratitude for the many ways we learn together, Catherine Frank Executive Director |
