Upcoming Schedule of Events
July 7-13, 2013

Dear OLLI Members,

We hope you are all surviving the extraordinary rain we are having this summer, and that we have a little break in the clouds soon.

We have settled into summer classes for the College for Seniors, and we have begun to put together the schedule for the Fall. We are offering previews of Fall College for Seniors courses on our Facebook page.  Click here to follow the link to our Facebook page and be sure to "like" us. Registration for the Fall 2013 term will begin on Thursday, August 15, and classes will begin on Monday, September 16 and run through Friday, November 8.

If you are interested in teaching for the College for Seniors or know someone who would, please remember that the deadline for submitting course proposals for the Winter 2014 deadline is July 15.  Please contact Anne Mock (amock@unca.edu) for more information.

Here at OLLI we look forward to the beginning of our Summer Music Series on Sunday, July 14 at 3 pm with a performance of traditional and contemporary bluegrass music by Buncombe Turnpike.  All of the allotted tickets have been distributed, but on the day of the performance, we will open the doors to fill all open seats. Thanks to Susan Grabel and Carol Taylor and the members of the Appalachian Studies committee of the College for Seniors for their hard work in putting this series together.  You will be happy to know that they will be offering an all-new Appalachian Sampler again this fall.

Finally, mark your calendar for our Membership Roundup and Barbecue, Thursday, July 18, 4:30 - 6:30 pm.  This is a great way to help us get a head start on membership for the 2013-14 year and also to meet up with friends to enjoy a wonderful meal.  Thanks to Jeanne Smolkin and the Party Planners of the membership committee for their hard work on this event.

Have a great week, and please let us know if you have any questions or concerns about any of our programs.

Hearing Loop & Telecoils (T-coils)

Hearing enLoop Bluehancement is coming to Room 102 at the Reuter Center this August in the form of a hearing loop.

Telecoils (T-coils) inside a hearing aid are tiny gadgets that pick up the hearing loop's signal, linking your hearing aids to the room's microphones. Most aids have T-coils built in.

If you don't know whether your aids have T-coils, now is the time to check with your audiologist.
Make certain you have a T-coil  that it is enabled and  learn how to access it if you want to make the most of our new assistive listening service in Room 102.

Prepare now to hear better in the Manheimer Room starting this fall!
